It looks fantastic :) The only 2 details I've found not perfect, are:
I'm sure it will work perfect for your needs. Cheers.
This site is very nicely done. Great work! I just have a few small items.
The logos is kinda small and gets lost with all the large text all around it. I would suggest moving the logo to the right side and make it a bit larger so the corner of the logo brings you down to the site. This logo really could be integrated into the main navigation area with the tabs. Then move the Search and Media Center links etc to the left side. This probably will need some experimenting with but if you can get it to work right I think the header area will be much stronger.
On the footer/site map area I would again switch the World Vision International to the right side and have the links on the left. Not a big deal could be just my preference. More importantly center that area with the area above it. Looks off begin aligned to the left edge.
On your other pages when you are in Issues, About Us, etc. I think it would look more cohesive if the tabs turned that orange color with the great texture. Definitely like the Sponsor a child tab blue though.
Only other thing is just make sure your body text is rendering correctly some areas it is hard to read.
Amazing job. Your information is well presented and very well organized.
Yep, their logo was quite a huge challenge for us as it was not really "tight" and had this right aligned look to it. However, in terms of usability, I'm a little hesitant on shifting the placements as search is commonly found on the top right.
Will give it a shot and see how it turns out.
Yup, the tabs will be highlighted during actual implementation. Thanks for the tip.
Noted on the text. Probably due to the jpegs. Shouldn't be an issue when its finally in HTML.
Poor people in third world countries never looked so good.
Lovely design treatment Ok. Please take no offense.
Too busy. My eyes are jumping all over the place You first need to CLEARLY answer Who you are What you do What is your mission/goal
Top area left (orange sponsor widget) This is the most important spot on page, and I think you have the cart before the horse. You need to set up World Vision first before you ask for Sponsors I think the ability to cycle profiles will not see much activity and therefore contribute more to an already busy looking widget Not sure about having 2 search fields on same page. Your going to confuse grandma Do you want me to Sponsor Now or Find Child. Which is it. The two buttons are competing. Begs the question here: What is the main call to action on page?
Top Banner area right (Blue, with two girls) Read more grabs my attention first. Is that the idea? Lose the thumbs, to busy and clutter the comp
"Make a Difference" How, what? You have Greek text in there now. I suppose you will be supporting that button with
Stories of hope. (Capitalize 'h' in hope) Make jpgs a little smaller Too much text. Shrink and add a read more to full content item.
Latest News Shrink image a little. The rest is good.
Emergencies Great rorator widget.
Light Blue band. Learn, Volunteer, etc Lose the buttons and make CTA's links. I would consider bring this stuff up higher on page and in a differ treatment.
Foot is fine
Summary Amazing design, really. My issue is that the page is waaay too crowded. To many competing calls to action, content heavy I want to see who you are, what you do, what you want 'clearly'
Hi Robert,
Thanks for your comments. I agree it lacks a certain clarity for now. Partially due to the fact that we have very little actual content to work with at the moment.
You might like to take a look at the mockup here where some little tweaks were made based on the client's feedback as well as some other ffedback from CF: http://wv.a8hosting.com/html/index.html.
I really like this design anyway, but when you compare it to where the World Vision Singapore website is at the moment, it's fantastic.
I agree with a previous comment about the opacity of the images in the right graphic... I didn't even notice that the others were there until I read that post. :)
Thanks for the precise points, bang on!
