Hey Noel. I think this design will meet your objectives. I've listed just a few minor things to consider tweaking:
Let me know if you have any questions.
Just wanted to say that I really like the design. It has a lot going for it, and you should be proud!
Only a few little things I think could be revised to make it that little bit better. I'm no so sure about the stoney pattern, I think it's a bit too much. If your going to use it, use a pattern thats more detailed (maybe smaller stones) and make it faded a bit more so it doesn't distract the user too much. The stoney pattern at the moment sort of distracts the user (my first inclination was that this site was a website for a building company, etc, until I read the logo).
Also, I would change the buttons on the slider. The current gradient looks a bit tacky in my opinion. Maybe try using a gradient that goes from light at the top to dark at the bottom, rather than a gradient through the centre like it is now. Remember, the more subtle the gradient the better; you want to notice it yet it not too stand out too much at the same time.
Lastly, maybe leave the colour in the photographs under the "our staff" section. It would add to the site just that little bit, which I think it needs. If you don't want the images to be fully coloured, you can mess with the "curves" adjustment on photoshop or desaturate the images slightly rather than fully.
Everything above are just little tweaks. Be proud of what you have here, it is very good! Good luck with the overall site.
Hi Matthew,
Thank you for the comments, lots of good stuff in there for me to try out. I actually really like the thumbnail idea and will definitely give it a shot!
RE: Gradient, will have a play :)
RE: Photos, I had them color and wanted to see how people reacted, guess I'll delete the duplicate folder that's desaturated.
Thanks again
Cheers
Noel
i think u took the 'stone' part way too seriously. i would say, the stone texture on top is a bit too much.. you can move the overall content up or add some stuff there on top if needed.
may be use some 'medical' tone of blue or green shades to show that this site relates to medical industry.. red and gray combination does not really tell what this site is about- you need the green and/or blue..
i think under navigation, news and article should be together and about, staff and contact should be together too.
Hi Abhishek,
Thank you for your review!
RE: Stones - I'm trying to get a feeler for what people are thinking about this. At the same time, it's part of their architecture for their building and they had made that conscious decision. On my side, do I want to be another boring doctors office with shutterstock stuff, no :) But I need to find that happy medium which doesn't only appeal to creatives but also to the 30-60 aged working class.
RE: Medical Tone - I know which greens and blues you mean, and I've mean playing with it, but burgundy is a tough color to work with, I'll give it another shot.
RE: Nav, thanks!
Cheers

I have sympathy for you on your limitations here.
The logo and burgundy don't work for me personally, but you're stuck with them, so you'll have to make do with them eh?
I think the whole site should slide upwards over the stone texture. Initially I didn't understand why the texture was there, but I figure it's to give the same feel that the building gives and I like that idea, so I think you should keep it, but I don't think so much space should be dedicated to it... instead it should wrap the header of the site... I know that this will have some impact on your logo though (whether there's a white block behind the the text / below the line or whether it's transparent).
I like the photo, very high impact, but I would make the gradient on the buttons a little more subtle... they reminded me of the out of the box buttons that you get in Adobe Flash and Adobe Fireworks.
I quite like the 5 dots in the top right-hand corner, with the buttons' gradient made a little more subtle I think they could balance well.
I would certainly change the staff photos to colour. On the gray background, this but a dreary feel to the bottom half of the page to me. Perhaps with a white border, just to make them stand out a little more, or to give them a little more contrast.
Thank you Kurt, all valid comments! I'll hopefully post a revision in a week or so :)
Cheers
Noel
generally: good and clean concept! no nonsense, to the point and smooth
the details: - the company logo looks a bit dull and fall out of tune with the rest of the design... probably little that you can do about that as it isn't your logo? :)
The gery background is a bit too dark for the b/w images if the staff and the title "our staff". perhaps a bit lighter background?
like the stone texture on top you may put your whole block of foreground items (logo, pic, content, etc) somewhat higher because you lose a bit too much space on top.
the call us at.." on top is a nice touch, perhaps a "more contact info" hyperlink next to it is easy for quick access to the contact info.
the different typo on logo, navigation and content titles bothers me a bit
make the range smaller and opacity lower on the drop shadow on the left
good work so far !
I would like it very much if it had a line and shadow below in the left body area as every side has it other than this.
Menu are good, but can be made better I feel when compared with other parts of the website.
Hi Andy,
RE: Logo, agreed
RE: Drop Shadow, also agreed
RE: Thumbail idea, I misplaced that comment on Matt's reply above (oops, getting late :) ), but totally agree!
Also agree on the rest, lots of great ideas for polish in there, appreciate it!
Cheers
