School layout

Hi!

First comment (an dI know you're set on colours) is that this site is lilac heavy! It'd be nice if you could either break that up a bit or edit the logo/buttons to a deeper purple. I think the background could be a much lighter purple too.

I understand the site is for a school, but it seems a little too childish, like a playschool or something

Contain that footer too, the floating text isnt really working it looks misplaced - maybe just a feint roundex box ofr something just to hold it.

The drop shadow is a bit basic, fine tune that a bit - maybe reduce its opacity and blur it a little more - it needent be that obvious to give the impression of depth

Im not sure on that red hose containing the site either - could you edit the colour of this? there is a definate clash with that and the bg colour.

You've got a lot of space under that logo are you filling it with a sub heading or something?

I like the base concept as well as the way the top navigation (Scuole, Segreteria...) works out.

A few points of constructive criticism:

• I find the font used in the logo area hard to read. Also, maybe the color is too light and/or too similar to the background. I'd use a different color for this logo text than the background color, as it stands it makes the header area look a little hollow, like the background is showing thru.

• It's a little hard to tell since I assume this isn't quite full size, but your header may be a little too tall. Will enough of the content/navbar appear above the fold on your target screen resolution?

• I think the tree/lightbulb thing looks a little too much like stock clip-art (but I like the kids)

• I don't get the thing with the hose in the upper right. That is, I can visually understand how the white area is bounded by the hose, but it's not clear to me why you're doing that. It just looks odd to me somehow.

• I like the lavender color used as the background, but I think your complementary colors are a little off, especially the red used in the menu highlight and link colors and the subheading.

• I don't think the contrast between text and background on the READ MORE button isn't strong enough. Either the background or the text should be darker (maybe make the text the same color you use in the background of the DOWNLOAD button?)
