Hello Aaran
This is a good idea, the colours are very nice. I find the bubbles look a bit too much like clip art 0 even if they're not. How about trying to integrate a bubble look on the text itself?
Also, the kerning on the Harabara font is a bit dodgy especially with the "lin", generally some of the letters look a bit squashed. I'm not really a fan of the other font either - how about something much more atypical and conventional? I wouldn't think it's really important for a laundry service logo to "stand out", laundry is just what it is, nobody is going to decide which laundry service to use based on a logo.
So maybe go for a more conventional font, and possibly look at reworking the bubbles. I generally don't think it'd matter if it looked unoriginal and atypical, uniqueness is not important here.
Just my thoughts! Good luck :)
I love V2, excellent font choice and fantastic colours, the only thing I'm not certain of is the bubbles.
I know, the bubbles are bit of a sore point for me too... Problem is this I originally did the clients design a year ago, and there were bubbles in this, and they want to keep them, I might just need to incorporate them some other way....
I like the second version. Lowercase sans-serif is becoming a common trend. The font in the second version is interesting and memorable while still being readable.
The bubbles over the i are fun.
The one thing I would change is the font used for the tag line. Maybe the one from the first version? Using the same font for both dilutes the effect of the logo.
i do like first one better overall.. however, bubbles i like in the second one better.. 'laundry services' in second option is kind of 'detached' to the logo.. i would prefer font used is the first one, when i read 'clean' i really think - clean.
bubbles with bevel looks like balloons and i think of a 'party supply store'.. i would introduce a 'thread' somehow in the image, may be between the text.. that would help it relate more to the clothing and laundry..
Ha ha... bloody good idea, I was thinking about adding in pegs, but wasn't sure how to go about it, maybe I'll hang the font off a thread!
Definitely the first one. The font is a lot better. Also i didn't like the bubbles in the second one. I really didn't like the placement of the bubbles in the first one either. And perhaps you can do without then and just have them as a fun recurrent feature of business cards, website, stationery and so on.
Only thing to complain about the font is that i find the "i" and "n" to close to each other in "linen". Make sure to have the same about of space between those two and the other, or it tends to look cheap (like a free font you grabbed online).
About the colors, I do like it and I do not like it. I am torn. I have seen it before. I've seen it before. For some reason i do not find the lime green very attractive when it comes to clean clothes. Then again, I can't really come up with a better suggestion.
You know you are right about all those things, the thing I am finding the hardest is to create an inspirational logo, with these words it's just so bloody boring…"clean linen" The colors come about because of an existing brand that I created for the client a year or so ago, and now they want to sell off this franchise completely… I think I'll go back to the drawing board, I am not completely happy, with the font, or even the placement, but thanks all the same for your review.
I love logo #1. The font is easy to read. The colors convey "clean" and are gender neutral. Very appealing.
Nice use of the bubbles. If I had to change anything, I would move the bubbles slightly to the side of or over the letter "n" as to not cover the letter "n".
( I don't like logo #2. Font is too elongated and hard to read. Bubbles are over the "l" which makes you think it might be a "t". )
I like it v2. It's fresh. Good contrast. I like the font and the bubbles. Much better than v1
In my opinion the font in v2 is nice, and the colors are suitable.
The bubbles are a nice touch, but I don't like the way they are clustered together. The overlap is too much, you should put some white space there.
Aslo, I am not entirely sure "laundry service" should be in gray. It's ok but perhaps something with the color of the bubbles would be better.
The first.
Want to make a suggestion, try giving more space in the horizontal tag lines (1 / 5 or 2 / 3 of the logo) a little break on the division colors.
Aaran, good logo.
I agree with Michael that those bubbles are problematic. I would suggest removing them. If you need an icon a stack of folded linen should be better. People are interested in the end product and are not concerned about cleaning process, washing powder, bubbles and ironing :)
Cheers Michael
