Ok, I need to get this off my chest: your client is totally pimp! The two first ones are the funnier ones. I like the idea you had but I think is too literal and might send the wrong message. From the two top ones, I think number one is more balance. You could try this:
1 - Connect some of the letters. The E and R as asking to be connected. I would replace the E from logo1 with the E from logo2; then, connect the E and R.
2 - Try something more subtle maybe only the black dots of the leopard (see attached). It is not easy to create a leopard skin without being corny.
3 - Maybe the ERGE part of the logo should be black. The two things right now are completely disconnected. It feels as there are two logos in one.
I think the other logos a very weak and don't say anything.
Please refer to these logos and see how much they say with so very little: http://38one.com/cleverblog/mother--child
If you are stuck, try leaving your computer, get a pen and a notebook, and doodle! Look at the progression of ideas for the Tenth Church logo: http://38one.com/cleverblog/tenth
Number 3 is awesome. Just make it a little bit brighter "orange" or perhaps yellow/gold.
Number 3 is probably the best of the lot but i really dislike how it seems to be 'squashed'
Subtlety of the spots on the end is good maybe bring this further into the logo and change the colour scheme
Saying that, I really like the furry V on the top 2 but it really doesnt work with the white text after it they look unfinished (i dont know if they are unfinished) - should carry the theme of the v through the rest of the letters in my opinion
One thing I noticed first is the first 2 logos. Ideally bitmap images are not good choice to use for logos because 1. they are not scalable 2. They contain to much detail that you'll have problem with using it in different media.
I'm not a big fan of logo 3 either because I dont really see the concept behind it. It looks the word is just typed straight as it is using the default settings of a certain font. In other words, it lacks the "WOW factor", .
What I like best on this set is logo #5. It's simple, straight to the point and I think it's a good start. Still can be improved but a good one.
Leopard texture is really cool on the first two logos but I would change the font to something more classic.
second one is great...it looks nice and clean....id definitely go with the second one!
i vote for #2, i love the font and the leopard skin on the "V" :)
great job :)
I vote for #3. The leopard spots are a subtle way of linking the newsletter logo to the company, Leopard, Inc–without being corny. The type treatment also has a similar line quality to the company's logo.
I like the boldnes of the first and second logos, but they need some more work to be appealing
nr 3 looks good, don't like the color
I don't like 4 and 5.
I am thinking you could try to get the V design from the first and second to the third logo and change the color, I like the font on this one and the tail.
