The all white background doesn't really say much looks extremely unfinished... looks more like a wire frame than a website design.
Gradient on buttons needs to be more subtle should be more like the my account tab at the top.
My account could possibly be in an additional color.
Pay now button in different color will stand out more increase usability.
Remove pay pal logo from top... it ruins everything if you must have it but it under the table.
Put a gradient on the background or something just so it isn't plain white.. actully remove the white box from the design and make the gradient much more subbtle on the background will open it up more... look up minimalist website design in google and take note.
hope it helps amd you can take somthing away from it
I do agree with your Trust markers are always important and do help to lead to greater conversion, however i feel in this case the scale and position of the marker detracts from the design.
There is ample space to the right of the button for the logo this will then bring the rest of the content up and tie it together more.
You could scale it and position it to the right or the button or have a scaled version below the button
When I Initial view the image i did not realise that the white was a wrapper and that there was a gradient on the background that may suggest that the padding on L+R margins of the wrap are too big, but this will change when it is view as a page so i'm not sure with that one but they are larger than normal.
Re gradients something that may help you if you use photoshop google web 2.0 layer styles and there is a kit with 50 or 100 layer style you can use for buttons etc these will help smooth out the buttons and give them more a web 2 look
hope this helps
Cheers Nick
I really don't understand what this page is supposed to be doing. From a usability point of view it leaves me totally confused.
You should have the grid at the top of the content area not a paypal logo just floating in the middle of all that white space.
The navigation tab already lets me know that I'm on the "My Account " page, so I would take out the "My Account" header.
You have 3 separate links to 'View Messages', which seems like overkill to me.
I would change the color of the column headers since all your buttons are using blue. The Pay Now button needs to be a different color and I would shorten the width of it as well.
I'm not crazy about the black font on the buttons either, you might want to play with that.
I agree with the other comments that the white background needs to go.
I do like the logo, you might want to integrate some of that red from the leaf into some elements on the page to tie it all in together a little more.
Have fun...
Hi Rebecca, Thanks for the honest feedback. - Can you elaborate on your first point? Do you suggest I take out the paypal logo? Where else exactly can I put it? I am just worried that without a paypal logo, not as many people trust my payment method.
What color would you suggest for the pay now button?
What other background color would you use? The reason I used white was because I used white in other pages as well. Example: http://i45.tinypic.com/w7iek9.jpg http://i47.tinypic.com/35a16vl.jpg
Thanks in advance for your reply.
Hi Bryan -
You could leave the paypal logo in, just move it down. Possible to the far right corner, and maybe scale it down in size as well. - The pay now button could be red with white font. - And if you moved the grid up to be aligned with the tip button on the left would even out the page. also, if you changed the header columns color to dark gray or something, it would show more contrast instead of having blue as the only alternate color on the page. Make sense?
My first impression was not as good as it should be. The design and choice of layout makes it look like a quick job.
If you wan't to get more customers you will need to refine the design in a way that makes it more professional.
My first 2 cents is to take a look on the menu and as well as the structure of the website.
hi alexander, thanks for the feedback. what would you specifically like me to change on the menu and structure? is it the color of the menu buttons? how would you like me to change it?
hi Nick, thanks for the feedback.
The only reason I put the paypal and visa logo is for adding credibility to the business. Wouldn't you say that is important? Do you think it will effect my business if I take out the Paypal / Visa logo and just have the pay now button?
Also, with regards to your gradient on the background, are you suggesting me to give it a color other than white. like grey? What would you exactly do to make it more subtle?
Thanks in advance for your response.
