    Concept 3

Posted on Jun 28, 2010 at 7:43 PM

I think the top one is executed the best, but the one at the bottom, with a little work, could acheive GREATNESS!

I would only use the left wing on CONCEPT 3. and put safe shelter Next to it,

Other than that i think it looks good. The colors were used very well and the shapes give a nice warm comforting effect.

I think if you go with any sort of wing it will look kind of church-y. But its not too bad. :)

Btw, where did you get the wing? did you use an image online? Or did you hand draw it. It's really good, a similar effect to what i wanted to achieve with my logo.

    :D

Thanks Luke. You know, it's funny because here I was saying the wings were abstract bird wings, but my wife looks at it and says they look like angel wings. I had never even thought of that, but it works just as well here because this nonprofit focuses on helping victims of domestic violence, most often women and children.

What are you ideas for that third logo idea? Can you get a little more specific? I came up with that one on a whim: the two contrasting angles loosely form an S, so I'm not sure how it would look taking away one of the wings. I can give it a try though.

As for the wing: I created it from a single circle in Illustrator.

Simply, I think what I meant would be easier described as separating the logo and text on CONCEPT #1, and making the wing a little smaller. I've been writing reviews all day, So I'm more or less going mad at this point... and nice Illustrator work. I've restricted myself to Ps and Dw, even though i have the creative suite.

Darken the wings on the White

    Jackson,

    I really like these concepts! I would have to say I like 1 and 3 the best. A few things to look for though;

    1. On the white background your overlay-ed wings don't "pop" as nicely. Try giving it more purple towards the elbow of the wing and gradient to the way it is now. This will make the "SAFE" in logo 1 more readable as well as make it "pop" as it were.
    2. In logo's 2 and 3 I think there is one 2 many overlays. These 2 have too much blur. I think its the bottom layer though, remove it and you should be in good shape. This is really apparent on the white background, not so much on the purple.
    3. If you do use logo 3 even out the bend in the wing. Currently it looks to angular and mushed as compared to the curve of the left wing in 2.

I would love to see the finished versions of these. Keep up the good work :)

    More contrast

Posted on Jun 30, 2010 at 2:39 PM

I think that the wing is a bit too transparent. On purple 2 and 3 are great ( for the transparent ) but 1 is too fade.

Fore the concept itself i like the 1. The 2nd has a mustache look and 3 has too much mouvement to be "safe". But the s shape is good maybe rotate it a bit...

    Adjust contrast

Posted on Jun 30, 2010 at 2:52 PM

The first variation is by far the best; the two below should not be considered. In the first one, I would make the wings a solid color, not three shades - it has to work in black and white.

I think the words safe shelter need to be more near to the wings.

in the corporate image the wings are too many. keep only the main!
