    BG color

I really like what you have started here. It has great potential. A couple things that I would try:

    1. Using "Pastel/Feminine" colors in the BG or headers. Hate to say this but give it a bit more of the "Martha Stewart".
    2. Better font selection.

Other than that, I think you are on your way to a nice site!

    Cheers!

Interesting feedback. Maybe you are right about the colours, don't really know. Regarding the fonts, I think Lucida Grande works well for the target market and is also web safe, don't you think?

Classy start with header on the top of design but am just concern about the rest of the design. why u haven't used colors. somewhere colors r not balanced. but design s quite good n modern. u can try gradient boxes (fading downward) instead of Grey one!! Also, middle part is looking cluttered. Anyways! good attempt. Good luck :)

    a few things

Posted on Jun 25, 2010 at 1:54 PM

I really like where you are going with this. The red curtains, icons, and gradients work really nicely together. I actually like the bold red for a coupon site, and I think red is suitable for your target market as well. I don't quite understand the movie theare and coupon connection, but I do like the header - I'd even make it a bit smaller if possible.

    Here's a few notes:

the grey makes the buttons look like they are still leftover from the wireframe. I like the gradients on them though.

      • 2spacing

add a bit more space or bump the tag down a bit. The area is looking a bit cluttered.

      • 3font choice

I'm wondering if a different handwritten font (more feminine) would fit better here.

      • 4footer

put this info in a dedicated footer. This section looks more like "bottom content" that goes before a footer.

      • 5links

add a link to the first two boxes (e.g. "find here + underline and "subscribe + underline)

    Logo and layout spacing

Posted on Jun 25, 2010 at 2:31 PM

Let me start off by saying I really like where this is going, it really works. The logo bothers me a bit, I think it's because the perforated edge comes first that it almost looks separated from the rest of the logo and makes the title look secondary. Try inverting it (see attachment)

I think your color scheme is nice, but the layout spacing all looks a little cluttered. the "t" in restaurant is almost touching that tag, and everything else looks kind of crammed together.

Might I recommend the 960 grid system, www.960.gs, I use it for almost everything I do with nice results and if you need a closely space layout like this go with the 24 column variety.

    Very nice start though

    Draft

Really enjoy your layout and whole theme. It does convey the point quickly and is clear cut which I think is important. I think your use of the red, grey and white is balanced although it would be nice to have a footer complete the look, a silhouette of a movie house audience perhaps?

A section of popular or latest deals/coupons would be nice for those people who don't know exactly what they're after?

Otherwise excellent feel and great purpose!
