    Try other colour schemes maybe?

Good use of grid, easy to interact with the site.

Try adding some “unnecessary” details here and there.

    Gradients

Posted on Jul 30, 2009 at 1:05 AM

The gradients are way too high in contrast, try something more subtle. I don't know about that typeface, Not a bad design but nothing really special about it either

Thank you for the comment Analise. I have self seen that the gradient is to hight in contrast. That I will work more with. The typeface name is "Lucida Sans Unicode".

    Colors

I like the design everything is good except the colors. The colors aren't that attracting. If you can fix that up that is going to be a great portfolio.

    It's nice...but...

It's a little bland. The gradients are distracting to me. There is no WOW for a portfolio site. I think you should have a 'featured' item at the top instead of the quote. Then you can drop the other thumbnails after the WOW.

Also, the RSS icon is a little big. At most it shouldn't be bigger than the top of the F and bottom of the RSS...

    I think it's a good start though.

    Good but

I think you could do better with the typefaces chosen. Have a look around, there are plenty of amazing free fonts out there that will give this design some real bite.

I also think the contrasts are all a bit wrong. Try a lighter grey background so there is less contract with the green bits and make sure you can read the red text at the top. At the moment its a bit hard.

    Hope that helps. Good luck.
