Good design, not as good as the others

Same comment from me - I like the other versions much better. The gradients and use of shadows here is a bit random and the page looses cohesiveness.

The buttons, top element, the three boxes all the way at the top are not as strong as the other concepts. I probably should write more comments here since I keep ranting at people for short reviews, but since all these designs are so similar it's hard to say different things. :)

I hope this helps and let me know if there's anything else I can help you with.

    Draft

I like the second one much better than the first one as i think the yellowish glow on 1st one is getting more attention. Definately 2nd one :)

    Over all very heat design.

It needs more more on the logo as currently on 2nd one it over all site is nice but logo is very simple and not going well with over all theme.

The center blue part could be handled diffently as blue is making is not going very well...may be try few more dull colors

    over all very nice

    Rotate the colors out

I think you've made some good updates to this design. I still think it's got some work to make it on par with your other designs.

      • 1Bar breaks up the page

Having breaks in the page is usually a good thing, but this one is a little too forceful. The navigation color makes it difficult to break your eyes from it and continue with the rest of the page.

      • 2Darker color

I would play with putting a different color in the background. If you had a darker color with the constitution still as the overlay, it would help separate the content from the background.

      • 3Different color

This color works OK with the layout as is, but all together you have a pretty washed out hum-drum look to this one. If you made the background color darker, you should also make this lighter. maybe matching the gold at the top.

      • 4rework this area

This entire navigation/search looks like an afterthought. I think playing with the links so they worked with this top nav and playing a little more with this part will help this top area quite a bit.

      • 5separation

As I stated earlier, this page just is there right now. In order to make this look as polished as your others, this content area needs some more work. I would play with separating it from the background. I would also play with the typography here. In parts ::

      • 6Like Here

It is too loose. There is too much space in between these news items.

      • 7In other parts it's too tight

There should be more space between the date and content.

    header colors

Posted on Jun 23, 2010 at 1:12 PM

I like the overall look and feel to this site. Really like the background image. Wonder what the header would look like if maybe blues? I think the links are important on the home page in the main content area. And having the links at the bottom like they are is a plus. The search form is in a great spot for the user. Nice work!
