    Hello,

Having seen your previous concept and some of the good comments that came with it, I believe you are in the right direction now.

    This is excellent!

Bring up the please wait a bit

Posted on Jun 13, 2010 at 4:38 PM

I think it looks weird because it is off center. I would nudge it up 20 or so pixels.

Thats really it. not much to review here ;)

Hey Luke, cheers for the review. Do you mean horizontally or vertically off centre? I just checked horizontally and all the elements are centre, which element is it you find needs nudging up? Cheers

Looks great and I laughed at your note to me :)

    Hi Michael,

This does look much better and the flat bit has gone - the jagged bit is probably a limitation of working with pixels. Also photoshop generally I find much more time consuming for this kind of work - much quicker in illustrator.

I tend to work with illustrator open with a grid of 1px increments and settings to snap to grid and then draw out any of these kind of elements in there, select them all and copy and paste them into photoshop as a smart object rather than pixels - this way you can scale it up and down to your heart's content without losing quality.

As to your splash screen... It's a really nice strong simple graphic. Much better for the tweaks.

Hey Emma Yeah, good point about illustrator. I really do need to use it more, but it was actually quite easy to make this, the eyebrows are just two circles (one subtracts from the other) and a bit of a fiddle with the warp tool. Definitely need to use illustrator more though - and thanks for your helpful advice :)

    Move up the "please wait"

Posted on Jun 13, 2010 at 9:28 PM

This looks a lot better! My only suggestion would be moving up the "please wait" closer to the Genesys logo. Other than that, it's a good progression. Great job.

Hard to comment fully without a more detailed design

Posted on Jun 13, 2010 at 9:56 PM

Great colours, good contrast - clean and crisp logo's and design so far. I like it. Hard to comment much further though without a more detailed screen shot.

Hi Paul, I don't know what screenshot you're thinking of...this is a splash screen, and after my last iteration of the design I was given feedback indicating it would look better simple. So this is all there is to review. Thanks anyway!

    the eye

Is the eye their logo and can not be changed? For I find that blue dot a bit disturbing, I would try how it would look if it was white.

    Looks great!

You might tighten up the space in between the three content items.

    Orientation

Posted on Jun 15, 2010 at 7:27 AM

I'd go with Maurice Cherry's comment. I think that logo and "Please Wait" should be closer together. I don't know what comes after "the wait" but moving the logo down might be better because of the background/light center

    just my 2 cents

    Should I be worried?

Posted on Jun 15, 2010 at 5:33 PM

This page could be quite intimidating. The angular eye is certainly not benevolent. Perhaps there is something you could do to make the page a little more friendly. Or joke about how serious the page looks. Fake loading messages? Maybe that won't fit with the brand.

Otherwise, I'd like to see pulsating dots below please wait.

    Pupil

Posted on Jun 15, 2010 at 11:23 PM

I'd try some different styles for the iris and pupil, it is a little hard right now.

If the copyright can go in the final version I'd move the eye down a little as well.
