if the aim is to see as many bikes on screen as possible i'd suggest removing the header and making the entire page a set of tiles spanning full width of the screen (float left) with the first tile containing the logo, search box and a few links
the header just looks really naff and takes up too mush screen space without being of any real use to the user.
I hate to be over critical but in some cases you have to be. I don't find this fun or easy. The elements are here but your design screams in pain.
I agree ... you need to condense your header for sure. Do more with the design to get content higher. But I do have to admit the only clean aspect in this design is your options area which would be a shame to loose since you have no clean design past that.
I realize you are trying to cram as many bikes onto a page as you can but its just not working. Visually its crowded and overwhelming and difficult to see one from the next.
How about skipping the "in your face" approach to jamming as many in there as possible and doing a cleaner less cluttered design and showing a few less to accomplish that.
You should always keep your design clean so people can digest it. If they want the everything crammed on one page look then allow them the option to select how many bikes they see on any given screen.
My suggestion would be to go and review stock photography sites.
I agree with the other comments about condensing the header area. The Twitter link and the search box could easily fit up in the space with your logo, allowing the main content to sit higher.
The overall color palette isn't very clear. If you're appealing to an outdoorsy audience, the earthtones you have would be a good starting point. You could also try a lighter background, which will help give the photos more breathing space.
I'd also recommend adding a bit of white space between the photos (if that means making them a bit smaller). My eye almost sees it as one big collage image, rather than separate photos. Also, if you need to reduce the number of photos on a page, perhaps you could offer more search criteria so a user can filter the photos faster. Ex. Sort by color, year, model, etc. Something akin to zappos.com search refinements.
It sounds like a good project! Cheers!
So like everybody told you in there reviews there is a lot to change I see one more think that was annoying for me, when you hover over the bike there is an icon next to the gumtree text that looks like something to grab and drag around and there is nothing to drag.
I like the part with the bikes. The rest just don't seem to pass in style.
design feels me boring . and what about the funcationality how it works when i click on one cycle.
you could also use ajax to pull in new pictures as the user scrolls down the screen.
