    I feel connected

    Nice work.

On the computer, I can only see the dark backgrounds making the cut because of contrast.

I don't think the contrast ratio is up to web standards, especially the smaller type. May be difficult to read. Use your hexadecimals on the following page to check.

Clever idea linking the rings. Simplicity is hard to do.

Thanks for your comments! I created this for print, but I'll defintily bring it up to web standards. Thanks for your help and that link! : )

The Subtext Is a Bit out of Place

Posted on May 27, 2010 at 11:49 PM

Wow! I love this design. Great job. It's simple, yet attractive. I especially like the version on the dark background.

The versions in the second image that tie into the logo is a great idea, too. Nice work.

My only issue is the subtext in the logo version. It seems somehow to take away from the symmetrical design of the logo, not quite lining up with anything in particular. It's also a bit small and hard to read. Sort of gives the feeling that it's just stuck there as an afterthought.

My best suggestion is to try repositioning it or removing it completely. You might be able to get away with lining it up with the S, so it's not just off center.

Otherwise, this is really nice. :)

thanks for your feedback! I agree with what you're saying about the subtext being out of place. I was having a hard time positioning it. I'll have versions without it, especially when the logo is displayed smaller. The company really wants the subtext, so I guess I'll just keep working with it. Thanks for your help! : )

    circles

Posted on May 28, 2010 at 8:25 AM

very first time i saw this- it reminded me of logo for Audi and somewhat for Olympics- i mean just the circle part-don't get me wrong- its very neat design.

But for logo prospective, i think it is a bit too big- you will know when you re-size this to smaller size (and of course, the "opportunity, strategies, growth" text wont be even readable.)

At the same time, "different colored rings represent the different products" is a decent idea- but i am not sure how would you be able to keep the number of products same for a company all the time- the moment they add another product- this design will not work.

Other thing you can try, may be change the size/prospective for different circles- the same size circles here is kind of monotonous.

and then, with dark background, "O" needs to stand more- "SG" part is really prominent--

overall it is a very decent attempt.

    Circles

I agree with the comment about the monotony of the circles. This looks very scientific, as if for a chemical research company.

I do like the logo variations for the services.

The tagline should be a solid one color, but not the exact same grey as the circles. It's position is difficult with the circles; if the company requires it's inclusion, don't force it into the design, but build your design instead to include it.
