    Box alignment

Posted on May 19, 2010 at 5:50 PM

Hey there, I favor the second image. Why? Because it removes redundant information. The colors are OK, but I think they could be a bit more intense, more contrasted, after all we are talking about CREATIVE here. For some more see my notes.

I really like the font. However, did you try using one which has a symmetric B? It may attract more attention that way and may look more down to earth.

      • 3A

It may be a lot of work without a proper 3d program, but you could try making the box translucent (as one of the above readers pointed out) and make a three dimensional "a" which shines through. I think "boxes" are dangerous, because people that think in terms of boxes are not open or creative. They are closed, boxed, introverted, lost inside theirselves. Play around with that concept a bit and it might ease things up. - in combination with some other font for "box" (as mentioned in 2), you could really create something outstanding. I really love the rounded font inside the edgy box! Keep it that way :)

    i like it

My first thought is that you are using a very rounded font for a company called "box" which is confusing to me.

I think using just the a in a box as a mark and coming up with a typeface below it would work better than side-by-side for this. I attached a file to show this.

The other thing that came to mind was using the "box" to include the word box as well as the a. See my attached file for a (very) rough idea of what I'm talking about.

Nice ideas, and I do like your first use of the concept, although not sure if the Box as another side would work, due to it being 3 letters.

Thanks for the feedback, its much appreciated.

yeah, it does look a bit unbalanced, but i figured playing with something to give it a bit more allusion to a box instead of a straight-up box could be a good place to look. You might even be able to make it in the shape of a single box still using only the words. I think it could really add some originality to the logo, as a cube is a pretty universally used image.

I like Peter's idea here and think it could be reworked a bit better, like maybe having the a next to the box and then b o x being on the different sides... with the "a box creative" underneath...

    Not sure on 2nd idea

Posted on May 19, 2010 at 1:46 PM

Personally I don't think the second photo makes it very clear what the name of the company is.

To me it looks like it was just called 'Box'. Perhaps if you had the 'a' on the other side it might be better??

Personally I like the font. I think the colours go quite well with the background colour, not sure if it would stand out enough against a white background though.

The second design looks much better as it removes the unnecessary letter "a" and looks less crowded

    Prefer second version

Posted on May 19, 2010 at 7:17 PM

I much prefer the second version as version one feels like four different fonts in one logo - the box a, the bold a, the upper lower case box and then the caps creative. Way too much going on for me.

Would like to see the bottom corner of the back of the box aligning with the baseline of the B - also a more boxy font to convey box through the whole feel of the logo.

    Would change typography!

Posted on May 20, 2010 at 3:05 AM

Overall idea is good. But if I may suggest some changes.

What I would do is: I would align all letters in aBox sign and would make all of them either bold or regular. If I wanted to separate "a" and "box" I would do it with color.

The "creative" type seems a little less visible than it should be in my opinion, so I think it should be bold or a little bigger.

I would also remove all thin borders from the cube icon.

And just a suggestion you may try: Make the abox sign really small beside the cube. Perhaps the size of the "creative" letters but black and put it by the bottom-right corner of the cube.

    Very good choice of color.

    ventures more

I sincerely develop the logo using the cube and then the depth that this may also give written. Continue the extension side and write BOX in perspective. The letter B lapotresti place it on the side and above The words "Creative" in perspective away from the cube.
