Hi Andrew,
I really like this design. It's simple and yet there's a creative touch with the C coming out of the page. I have no problem seeing the A and the C.
I'm one of those people who thinks that a logo doesn't necessarily have to reflect what the company/individual does (especially for an individual). For example, the Apple logo is one of the most praised out there, and yet it doesn't have anything to do with computers. As long as you have a tagline/intro on your website, or info at the back of your business card, it should be clear enough about what you do.
My suggestion would be to also make a flat version of the logo (no shadows, no perspectives, no out of page), while keeping this 3D one, since some situations would call for a 2D, simpler version of the graphic.
Great job!
Many thanks to you both. I already have a flat version of the letterforms so I'll use that to produce a 2D logo. Really appreciate your feedback.
I've gone a little drastic in the changes for this. Flattened the logo, made it horizontal, changed the font, centre aligned, added a strapline (of sorts, but it meets my minimalism of message I try and adhere to).
Hey andrew,
This is my first review on conceptfeedback. I actually think your logo is fantastic... after i read what it meant from reading your comment to the first review.
Since you're going for a minimalistic design for your card, why not just draw your "ac" logo in a normal horizontal orientation and maybe play around with some negative space to bring out the wittiness in you. For more ideas, you can browse through those 'top 50 logo design' compilation floating around the web.
my 2 cents :)
I'll definitely look at playing around with the negative space. Thanks for the feedback.
Dont want to go against the grain but I really like it...a lot.
Yes the C could be a bit more C shaped but...
I love the colours, Im a big fan of this green.
Maybe a tagline...maybe not.
I personally love the 3d effect on the logo.
Great job.
Cheers
Thanks for the feedback! I've created a flat version and can see some merit in both versions. I think I need to sleep on it.
Hi Andrew. I think the flat version its a lot stronger. Its a winner for me!
Nice colour scheme, nice choice of font and embossment.
What isn't working is the cutout C. I understand what you're trying to do here but why does the C come out of an O? It doesn't make sense. Just cut out a C. I'm not fond of the shape or angle of the cutout either. It's too squishy and the placement doesn't really interact or relate well to the text beside it. You've also got 2 styles - sans-serif & serif beside each other, there's too much difference and not enough integration.
This logo doesn't represent that you do web design either.
You could layout out your card better too, rather than placing everything dead center.
Thanks for the feedback. Not sure I agree that every logo needs to be a literal translation of what you provide though (do Nike sell ticks?). I can see what you mean about the shape, it's meant to be a C coming out of a lowercase A. I'll rework the letterforms. Oh yeah, should have made it clearer that this is just about the logo, I was just using the business card as an example of it in situ. New to this site, will be more explicit in future.
Many thanks!
I agree with Andrew, the logo in this case doesn't need to represent what he does.
Andrew, why not have your name "on" the piece of paper just like the logo is?
I can't really tell from this image if you've done it already but I think this would look really nice with indented text. (Add a one pixel white border under each letter and shape.)
This card is very professional and attractive. I think you've just inspired me to get my business card in the works. :D
Nice texture for the card...really compliments the text.
So are you going to redesign your website to fit with the new logo? I can't wait....I'll watching for more updates. :)
Thanks for the feedback theo, much appreciated. The plan is to finalise my logo then forge on with a website redesign.
Simple font, comfortable color, unique font type, a very solid card design, well done.
Hi,
I like the color combination and how you combined the letters a and c.
Also I like the simplicity.
Just a small note: I'm not sure that the green lines on the right and left of "Web Design" really go and I reckon they actually detract from what should be the main focal point, the name. Maybe if they weren't so light it wouldn't take over? Just a suggestion.
I see what you mean. I think I need to make a new version without the card. I can perceivably darken those lines buy not embossing them I think. I'll try that and repost.
Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated.
I really like the whole 3D look to the logo, but I just can't help but feel that the two fonts conflict with one another. I would recommend using a smoother font for your name to match the logo. Hope the opinion helps, because you definitely have a talent.
Thanks, I did have a few versions with some sans-serif fonts but quite liked the contrast. I'll revisit the font selection to bring it together more.
I've tried a more rounded sans font. Not sure I prefer it over the contrast of the previous but I can see that it's maybe less jarring.
I would make that flat as a few have suggested, looks great on the business card, but needs to work on a few different mediums, so it would be good to keep it flat.
At the moment it says OC to me because of the way that it is tilted, for some reason i didn't pick up the A until after i looked at it a few times.
I've added a new version that incorporates a flat version. It's also horizontal so I'm hoping the 'ac' should be more obvious.
very clean processional logo
I would also recommend doing a flat version of the logo - useful for printing onto backgrounds or black and white (e.g. invoices). It's often recommended to start with a simple version and then when you're happy, add the embellishments.
