I like the nice, clean design. It is not difficult to find what you are looking for. Two things jump out at me beside the gradients already mentioned in the comments:
1) The hover border on the navigation needs more contrast. I can hardly see it.
2) The copyright section is a little confusing to my eyes. At first I thought it was no drop shadow on the bottom, but then I noticed the shadow effect drawing the eye to the blue section. Maybe you could have it on the same level as the sitemap, contact, login without a background. It wouldn't be part of the content section.
I really like the website. I like the design. modern and elegant. The links could do better, though. The entire website is well-tuned, and then there are the links which look very 90's like.
I don't know how come but the screenshot taken by CF shows strange links indeed, I think you should visit the site to see how they really are.
Hi Arno,
I love the color scheme and the clean look of your design. It feels fresh. Here are a few suggestions if you don't mind -
Somehow the navigation links at the top look out of place. With the saturated blue color and the underlines, they look too much like the default link style. Perhaps change them to CSS buttons, or at least remove the underline (or change to a different style).
The headers in the 3 boxes could stand out a bit more. Maybe a different font that's also in the modern clean style.
The icon for "webdevelopment" feels small compared to the other two.
As others have already mentioned, I think the design would look even better with the drop shadows and gradients toned down a bit.
Great job and good luck!
Sorry, I just saw your above comment and went to your website. The links do look much better on the web!
I noticed one more thing - It seems the font size for the labels (eg, naam) in the contact form seems large. Also, the text fields seem a little too close together. Perhaps a bit more space between them would be better.
I love this design. It is clean and professional. This is one of those designs I could just lose myself in. The client should be very happy. As far as the text goes, I don't read dutch and the translate website option didn't translate all of the content, so if there were any issues there I would not be able to tell you.
The design looks good overall, but the gradient from the content makes it look pretty busy and hard to distinguish the background of the cells from the main background. I suggest to use a full color, without gradient for content, or come up with something nicer. Also, I don't quite like the drop-shadows from the cells. I think it's because of the gradient.
Hope my review helps a little.
Cheers, Ciprian
I guess I was a biiiiiiit faster than you :)
But in the end, the poster has to benefit :D Come up with a better version Arno
I like the layout and the architecture you have there, but I don't think the design working very well. A couple of things.
Your gradients are way to noticeable, it makes it look like a template from $10 websites
The colors might work together well without so many effects
Navigation definitely needs work
I also like the logo and the icons you have.
Good work. It's always nice to see new sites.
Here's what I like: 1. You are using contrast well. Your darker text isn't lost on the background. The contrast of the blue really pops against a lighter design. 2. The logo seems to work with the design 3. The overall look is clean.
Here's what I would improve:
Looks very appealing Arno. Love the color combination you used. Can you change the menu color to black, it looks odd in the layout and can u try the content part without gradient !!!!
Good Luck
As commented above, for the links you should visit the website. There's something wrong with the screenshots.
Thanks for the comment.
