    header & contents

Posted on May 06, 2010 at 4:39 AM

    Hello Danelle,

I have this to say because the site design could drastically improve in terms of colour and type(because from logo, we have both serif and sans-serif fonts in the logotype), spacing, alignment(especially), etc.

I think the header is too crowded. With the navigation, which is the primary and which is the secondary ie. production services and others vs. about|contact and co.

Also there is not enough contrast for the "We make media easy" and the background as well as the 'about' and its menu background color.

A way around the header is clarify the navigation(which is secondary and primary) and then swap the location of the contact info with 'we make media easy' and reduce the size of contact info. and probably get rid of the production services, webcasting tel... n mobile pdtn at the top because they repeat, they are the center of focus(i.e. animation/banner) 'Hightlight Reel'.

You then need to find a way to show them when one is not on the home page. ie. if they are to appear on all pages.

On the content area, there is a lack of alignment and spacing both home page and secondary page. Attached file might help clarify this. More to say but this is okay for now.

    All the best.

    Amazing

That is the reason I posted this for feedback. The logo itself is difficult to work with in the header and I struggled for a while to even get the header where it is now. Thank you much for taking the time to suggest things for this concept. I will be taking all of this into consideration moving forward to make a more complete and polished design.

the relationship between the outer / border and inside

Posted on May 06, 2010 at 11:18 AM

It looks quite exciting, there's a lot going on and I think you've done a good job of maintaining a cohesive heirachy. I'm assuming that on the homepage that is some king of horizontal accordion if so I think it works well here.

I prefer the "inner" of the site, the parts on the white background, particularly on your secondary information page. This element looks much more like a finished piece whereas the outer looks like it needs work. I would focus on the styling of the text particularly in the header so as to try and create a relationship between this area and the main content area.

Thank you Dave. I think you are exactly right with what needs the most work and I'm sure the content area will even get some upgrades in the process. I appreciate you taking the time to review!

    Squared, but not quite

    Hello Danelle,

I like your design. As other had pointed out there is a problem with the borders of the content (white area). Try increasing the padding, or maybe discard this border at all.

    The Header:

    1. Regarding the about, contact and company menu, I don't find the blue color appealing (you should try pink background, white foreground)

    2. The same comment applies to menu (production services, webcasting...)

The footer: 1. I would decrease the footer font size.

    1. Maybe get those logos (Cancer Recovery, Lottery Girl Scouts..) to the footer without the colors. dark gray.

    Inner Page:

This is more appealing than the front page. Put some borders the the photos (1px solid gray, padding 2px)

Thank you! I am addressing the spacing concerns and colors as well. I am leaving the logos where they are because they are actual content - clients of the company as opposed to sponsors, etc. I will think about how to indicate that better. I appreciate your review!

I didn't write this in the description but one of the main goals of the site is to get contact for potential clients so this will stay, but in a different capacity because it looks pretty awful. Thanks for your review!

Nothing that wouldn't be just personal preference

I like it. It's content is clear and very visible. Seems to need some color, or some design to make it stand out. But overall nice, good job.
