I like it! Even the maroon :P

Nice job, I like it, just one question:
That header zone with the laptop? What's up with that? Is there going to be a video or something? Or it's going to be a slider? It just stands there...

Thanks, yes the laptop is a slideshow. It was commented in the original version. Sorry I took it out this time around.

    Make clear what you do

Posted on May 03, 2010 at 2:19 PM

    Hi there,

Good design. But I would make it more clear for the visitor what the website is about. Because now they can only read it in your slogan below the logo, of if they scroll.

For example, you can make the laptop a bit smaller, put it to the left / right and then a good piece of copy near it.

The only thing that doesn't fit in your design is your 'send-button'. Maybe you can use the light blue in it, or remove the lighter border.

Just my 2 cents, great job!

Thanks Niels, Ill look at the send button. I originally had copy on the web but took it out. Ill have to rethink. Thanks for your comments.

    Tag Line

Posted on May 04, 2010 at 5:22 AM

Hi, really like the design but I agree with the pervious comment, that the site could do with a tag line to clearly set out what the site is for on first glance.

The small footer icons on the new version much better, but i'm not sure if the yellow text is clear enough.

Also I think you should add the arrows either side of the Laptop like the previous version to make it clearer that the user can operate the slider function.

Thanks Steve, I have been looking at the tagline but am drawing a blank. I dont like the laptop on the sidee with copy, I will have to think a bit. cheers

Just happens that I came across this website: http://www.webbyran.nu/

They also use a Laptop image in the header and have offset it against some text - making it the dominant element of the page. I think this sort of focus is the only thing your site is currently lacking.

funnily enough I had seen that site. Take a look at the alternative version I have added. Its a happy compromise, above the fold.

    change the main text font

Posted on May 04, 2010 at 7:44 AM

looks really nice. Although it's not obvious what you're offering from the images. They're not saying anything to me with the current captions.

the san-serif white font does quite go with the rest of the site for me.

good colours and design - like it!

      Thanks Andy,

The images ar just place holders at the moment. By the sans serif are you referring to the body? I dodnt want to leave the readable text as a serif.

yeah - the main text. it's not a big issue for me. out of interest, why don't you want to use a serif?

Its a personal thing, I come from the editorial world and its just the way I worked. You know, Serif Title, etc sans for copy. Just a thing.
