Nice but I would add more colors

Posted on Apr 22, 2010 at 1:16 PM

    Hey Benoit,

I really like your card, it's very clean but I think that for a company that makes audiovisual and photography projects, it lacks of fun and colors. Blue and white is a well known mix that represents stability but it's too shy I think. If I had this card in my hand and was looking for such an agency I won't be sure if I should contact them. It almost makes me think of a company specialized in computer repairs or retailer. Maybe you could use a brighter color for the double line that breaks into squares on the right, something a bit more flashy. Are you planning of using some print effects on the card such as "spot gloss" aka UV cured coating, it would be nice to apply this on the logo or the line and the squares.

One more thing, it's hard to tell which is front and back and on one side the logo has those blue dots around it and on the other side, it does not, making hard to tell which one is the actual company's logo, the version with the dots or without.

Hope it helps, Bonne chance! :)

Thank you for your review, I think you're right concerning your color suggestion, i'll try something more "flashy". But I'll not use more effects on it, the important is to keep the informations clear. Thank you very very much.

In France, a audiovisual society is commonly call a "boite de production" ( in english "production box" ), that's why the logo is a box.

    Remove the angle brackets

Posted on Apr 22, 2010 at 5:33 PM

Overall, the design is very nice. The only thing that bothers me is the angle brackets after the web address. It's distracting and doesn't seem to be consistent with the rest of the design.

    Line-height

Posted on Apr 22, 2010 at 8:39 PM

    Bonjour Benoit,

The card looks nice, there is only one thing that I would change, on the recto side I would add increase the line-height a bit so it will be easier to read the information when it's printed on business card size.

    enhance the gray

Posted on Apr 23, 2010 at 3:59 AM

I don't think the gray gradients (cube and logo) will print very well. They look good on screen, but on paper you could get a nasty effect.

I like the bullets on the verso - maybe use them on the front.

And add some line spacing on the front, the info is too crowded (just like Kevin said).

    The box?

Posted on Apr 25, 2010 at 12:26 PM

Hi Benoit, This card has a clean, professional look and I love the divider line that breaks up into a confetti look on the right.

I don't understand what the box is supposed to be and though I like the 3-D look of it, I'm spending too much time trying to figure out what it is and how it relates to your business. Is it a part of your logo or branding?

Also the spacing on the front is crowded between lines and I think the font below the line is too simple. I also don't care for the arrows that point to the back.

I love the swish or bounce effect of the dots on the back.
