    Usability huge problem

Posted on Apr 16, 2010 at 5:29 AM

    Hi Aran, looks nice but...

...one massive thing. It is not a homepage, and if you think it is let me tell you This Is Not a Homepage :)

Homepage is a page which in a few seconds explains the concept to the new visitors and makes them join. Check up Concept Feedback homepage (make sure you are not logged in) and make yours somewhat similar but simpler :)

What you have here is a page after login.

I would suggest you start with wire-framing fist. It's 50 time faster to change something in a wire frame than in a design.

    Keep with the good work

    Logo

Very nice, much better than the old one. The logo still needs work, and the buttons need space.

    Probably usability

Posted on Apr 16, 2010 at 6:29 AM

The design is really nice. I like it esp. the colors.

I'm not sure about the usability side though. I'm a little confused by the tabs esp. the "New Request" tab. You're explaining how the site works in that tab so how is that related to creating a new request? You probably need to use a button instead. Also, I think there's no need to use a tab to explain how the site works (the "How it works" tab). I think it should be also a button next to the site explanation.

You're really in the right direction and the design looks a lot better than the old one. You just need a few changes for the usability side and you're all done. Good luck!

    Add count to filters

Posted on Apr 16, 2010 at 9:28 AM

I would add the count in parenthesis to "New (3) What's Hot (10) Recently Ended (2)"

Give the content area some whitespace to breathe

Posted on Apr 16, 2010 at 9:51 AM

The content area looks a little crammed. Maybe you should display fewer items there or give them a little more space around them. I like how the colors in the top area fit together. (Well, not hard with black and green ;)

The logo needs to be revisited

Posted on Apr 16, 2010 at 1:21 PM

Much better than the previous version, but for a design related site the logo is severely lacking any pop or interest, it is very generic. The logo icon also has the tendency to draw the eye down and away from the name because all of the angles and tangents point away.

It is a very simple and generally clean design for the site.

    Header and Logo

Posted on Apr 17, 2010 at 8:23 AM

Nice start . The logo needs some work and the header is not popping out. Some structural arrrangemnt to be done on the content part , although its a cool start. Good luck

    Great work

Posted on Apr 18, 2010 at 8:00 PM

This is really great work, I think you are almost there. Here are the things to work on:

    1. The tabs look odd, maybe make them a little bigger
    2. Shrink the logo
    3. Utilize the green bar some more. Make it bigger and space out your text. Get rid of the text on the right hand side of the green bar.
    4. Get rid of the bluish background on your content and just keep it the light green
    5. Space out your projects more, they look really crammed

Great work here, this is a vast improvement from the old design.

    logo

Posted on Apr 16, 2010 at 4:05 AM

Your logo still needs some attention. I think its a folder but the angles are all over the place. and looks really odd. I like the text next to it and the colouring for gfx is nice.

The header text could do with being looked at, and an image adding to the side like your old design.

    Its a promising start.
