#2 All the way, maybe loose the page fold

Posted on Apr 16, 2010 at 6:33 AM

I like them all, but #2 is my favorite. I think you are using the right blend of iconic design and realism. #2 is much more versatile, you can easily create a black and white version if necessary. You may want to experiment with a comp that doesn't use the page fold.. page folds are a little overused in my opinion. The wine drops on #1 could be mistaken for blood splatter.. I've been watching too much Dexter lately.

I will try versions of #2 without the page fold - would be great to hear your opinion again! Thank you very much!

    larger bottle

Posted on Apr 16, 2010 at 8:04 AM

I like #2, has the two keywords symbolised: wine and books. Just make the bottle a wee bit bigger to be more visible. The other two don't exactly show the purpose.

I will give it a try. If you like you can rate the new version (comming 0.3).

      Thank you very much!

    I'd go with #2

2 is more iconic and gives the opportunity for more and wider use than the other two options. Though I might consider putting the heart in the bottle silouhette.

    Angle the bottle

Posted on Apr 16, 2010 at 2:09 PM

Great stuff here. #2 all the way!

I would lose the page flip, like most are suggesting for #2. One more thing to consider – this logo is uniform, up and down. I would lose some of its predictability and angle the wine bottle a bit (similar to what you did to the words in #1, but in the opposite direction). This will give it a dynamic interest and keep it almost playful, but still professional.

    Hope this helps.

    I like number 2

Posted on Apr 17, 2010 at 4:39 AM

Of the three designs i like number two the best, one and three have very little to do with wine IMO. Also not much that could be improved on design 2, nicely done :)

    Touch up wine bottle

    Number 2.

Have a look at the bottle for the second icon. At small sizes I would think its a cricket bat.

      Somehow...yes.

I will choose a different bottle shape.

    #2 is the best

Posted on Apr 18, 2010 at 8:02 PM

2 is the best but don't put the page curl on it. Maybe put make the bottle a deep brown instead of white.

    read the review...

Im not sure if the book (number 2) shoud have that page flip. It should be a cover, shouldnt? So it would be hard... aaaand the books corner is rounded. On the flip it is square! ;)

I like the number 1 with the spots on the top, but the spots on the bottom looks more realistic for wine. The second looks like blood! lol

    great job, anyway!

    paper size

Posted on Apr 16, 2010 at 4:07 AM

clipboards hold paper with a specific margin around it, your page runs over the edge and this makes it look strange to me.

What is the connection between a clipboard and a wine? The middle one looks like a wine menu so that one works best for me.
