Move the packages from the left sidebar to center.

Posted on Apr 11, 2010 at 3:44 PM

First thing I would do is move the packages from the left and give them a more prominent space, like a whole row across the upper fold of the page, those are the things you are selling, they should get the absolute best place on the page, also after reading the package details I can't find a link to show me more info about the package itself, are those server images linkable?

Provide a better call-to-action for those packages, like a button that has a high contrast with your design, that should call the users attention to it, if they click it, you are almost there for a conversion.

    hope this helps

Thank you for the feedback Zaid...I will begin work on the new design now. The old design and new mockup are basically a stepping ground that I want to update because of how old and sort of...how can I say it my old game website I was using for my company

I will use the tips now and update the design

the first thing I would do...

Posted on Apr 11, 2010 at 4:33 PM

Is start again, sorry to be harsh, but this is just too red!

It's so bloody (excuse the pun) red...

I'm still confused as to what it is that you do, from the name it sounds like game developers, and then the red would kind of make sense, still extremely too much...

I would suggest getting some inspiration at www.foliofocus.com, and hitting the drawing board... and try again.

    Good Luck

The red was my old game website colors, decided to keep them since I had to switch over sites at the time to this one.

I will change the colors to something a little bit more web developer wise

And yes the name is more game developer because I actually started the name off as a game developing company instead during that time of release

    Tone down the red

Posted on Apr 11, 2010 at 5:28 PM

The colour of this is a bit to glaring from what I can gather you are selling hosting packages. I would see this sort of site as looking a bit more professional where as this as it currently stands looks a lot more like a game server hosting company.

Secondly the 'Godslayer Inc' font is not really working for me, might be worth reviewing some different typefaces to use for that main logo. The bisecting line across the text also detracts from the readability.

    Color and Web2.0

Posted on Apr 12, 2010 at 2:02 AM

    Hi,

The site is not web2.0 and the color red, plz make it tone down or find some other alternative for it some real good color schemes can be browsed @ adobe kuler or google it.

I am sure the overall look and feel will intensively improve.

-- The top navigation - seems to be lost in the design

-- Left navigation area - the text is capitalized, is suggest making it normalize.

-- The image area - The image area needs to be worked upon maybe carousel can help it.

    -- Cluttered Information

    the entire design

Posted on Apr 12, 2010 at 11:26 AM

    Hi,

The problem is my eye is scanning the entire website trying to figure out what it is I am looking at. initally I didnt realise it was a hosting website until I saw the "space: 5GB" on the left side.

    Get rid of the red

Put the packges in the middle of the page.

move the stuff currently in the middle into a footer area.

Alright I see what you are talking about, I am doing a remodeling of it on the previous feedbacks at the moment and redesigning the website to fit more of the web hosting appeal instead of the old gamer website look I had not to long ago

      Thank you for the comment

    The Color Scheme

Posted on Apr 12, 2010 at 3:24 PM

Every time i begin a project I start with layout a color scheme. There is a really great tool for doing this

    http://colorschemedesigner.com/

Your choice and placement of color make it difficult to focus on the information.. lead the eye to where you want it to go through use of color..

you can also use a heatmap tool to test the eye flow of your design

Feng-GUI can be very helpful is understand how other will see your design

I agree with the other reviews.. move your offers to the center. Structure the page so that the offers are the focus on the visitor.. I find it very helpful to take screen shots of other similar companies to see how they have solved the problem..

I never used a heatmap tool before to check on the eye flow of the design but now I will as soon as possible.

The color scheme that I start with in my mind is 2 base colors and then expand it to larger colors from there on. I am making the red darker but is still thinking of changing it to a different red color scheme that I found on kuler and other schemes.

Thank you for the feed back Sean

    YIKES!!

Unfortunately I think this needs a complete re-haul. The overuse of red is far too overwhelming, the layout looks dated and your typography is pretty rough. I think you need to start fresh on this design.

      Thank you for the comment.

I am doing a complete re-haul on the design at the moment. I am using red as only the background and header currently. Working on using a new color scheme that uses red but not as much of it and not as bright.

The whole design should be more up to date than this design that I have at the moment.
