hi Shobhit,
Here are my thoughts:
You should advise the client that the usability and the visitor experience of a website should be a primary concern and have direct impact on the artistic style of the site. Although its hard I think you need to put your foot down and try and convince them of this.
I like the retro lines (i think taken from a chris spooner tutorial) they work well and may work even better in they extended vertically down the page from their current finishing point.
I think the the index page of this site should be more simplistic, less cluttered. When i looked on the site, I was struggling to see why i would want to use it, how to use it. Project Bubble ( http://projectbubble.com [1]: http://projectbubble.com ) is a site recently posted on here. Its a site that I viewed, I saw how it could help me, how to use it and I signed up straighaway. The simplistic style of the site and the simple yet attention grabbing 'call to action' buttons drew me to to signing up. I think your site's index page could be more simplistic, less elements and better calls to action.
Although, the majority of web users will be able to see the flash banner, some (iphone and ipad!!) will not be able to see this. Its the major element of the site and holds the major information. So if a visitor cant view it then they will leave the site within seconds. Look into jquery plugins that work with the ipad/iphone and have similar (if not better) effects than flash.
You need to check some of your english as there is a few typos.... "easy register" for example should be "easy registration" and "listen radio" should be "listen to radio"... i know its a mock-up but thought i would say anyway.
good luck joe
No worries Stu, love project bubble and waiting for a few months before work load will require it to be used a lot more!
do you have a iphone app for a reduced feature version? just to keep to-do-lists to hand?
This is obviously appealing website. Really like the lines and the images you picked and arranged here. I have one suggestion: On the text "100 years of Indian Music...." try using sans serif font like Helvetica same font size (adjust if necessary) , I think that would look even better.
:)
I like it, can you try to use anothe font for central popup ("create cds", "download songs" and "buy album"), Could you use a indulge or explore font.
I dont think there is anything wrong. Keep up the good work. I especially like the strips of colour.
I think the design looks very striking! Love the background and large imagery.
However feel that navigation is a little lost at the top.
Also not sure if the images are related. The asha one is and draws me in straight away, as its relevant, so is marasim at bottom. Others look very english - which I dont think the site is about.
Hope that helps.
I would have to say that the design is very well done and original as well.
I like the fact that you are mixing in the actual different options for the users to make there own cds, download the other songs, and the ability to listen to the music on a radio station.
It can bring many users to your site but the thing is, its really crammed site. You might want to do something with the large images, such as making them a bit smaller or either doing something with the subscribe now button and image next to it.
All in all the site is very well put together and there is nothing wrong at all with the purpose being mislead.
Great job
This is an interesting design and pretty different, however in the end I think it is just far too busy. The 3 header images, lines coming out at you, advertisement banner and bold footer is just too much. You need to simplify this design.
Thanks Joe for the mention :) Stu (PB)
