    More dynamic

You have got the simpel design that you were looking for without a doubt - but I would prefer something a lot cooler and daring. Especially on a skiing site :-)

    It's certainly simple...

    Hey Mark

You hit the nail on the head when you said you want it to be simple.

However, that being said you really need to make it interesting, you are new to the game fair enough, and you are a professional skier (that's cool) but as far as I can tell the site doesn't reflect that at all.

A few things that might help your site progress, first off to get some inspiration go to www.foliofocus.com

    1. Back ground is too bland try a texture or even an image, of you skiing or an illustration.

    2. Main Nav - too small, the words and the font are too small. The nav Bar would be better placed in line with each other that way using all of the real estate in the header area.

    3. Main Photo of you, this is pixelated and doesn't come across as professional.

    4. You have no footer, if you had one you could bring your social icons into that and make them bigger and easier to see.

Overall it's a good first attempt, however there's a bit of work that needs to be done.

    Good Luck

    I like the logo!

Posted on Apr 08, 2010 at 3:16 PM

    Hi Mark,

I like the logo and think you need a lot of work on the rest of layout.

Concidering your requirement of website I would suggest the following:

    • put your pictures in background wall, background can be a slideshow

    • navigation should be right next to the logo

    • use some introductory content and leave the rest of the page for blog. This way it will help to maintain a nice and modern desing on web and wap as well

Hope this help to go ahead on the design.

    Thanks, Haider Ali

    Consistency

Unfortunately I don't think this design is working. Your biggest issue is the consistency of the design. Your logo looks different from the nav bar, which looks different from the content area. It also lacks any sort of excitement or interest. Your content area is segmented and plain. Keep working on this one.
