    One word, Awesome!

Posted on Apr 08, 2010 at 9:37 AM

But at first sight, i thought it's something like bandage. If i didnt see the text "post-it" I'll never find out what is it.

Maybe re composition of text might help?

I have to say I get the association more with this re-composition by Michael and lower the hand. With the original concept, Post It was a bit lost. But I think this would work well with a background and you'd be good.

Now imagine a wedding ring concept. You could really expand it out. Good job.

    color of post-it note

Posted on Apr 07, 2010 at 2:46 PM

I love this so much! What a great concept! I immediately understood the reference to tying a knot around your finger to remember something, and how post-it notes relate to it.

The only thing I would even think about suggesting is to make the note a little more yellow. It blends into the background a little too much. Since the poster is so minimalistic, the post-it could be slightly brighter.

i agree with more yellow, as the post-it note shown is not the same colour as i associate with post-it note yellow.

    Love the concept!

I really love this idea! So simple, yet so smart. I would make the yellow on the sticky note more prominent. It fades into the background a bit much.

what you've got works, but minor suggestions..

Posted on Apr 07, 2010 at 5:17 PM

this is a spectacular idea. i would say only tiny tweaking to make it completely awkward-free. sharpie is good. i think the finger lines don't really make sense, the ribbon is the reminder. but i see why you added them.. i wonder if dotted lines might be a good strategy? maybe you don't need the lines at all?

i think you should add the ends of the string that come down off of the knot. i made a rough addition in photoshop and attached it below.

great work on this, i love the idea and your execution so far is fantastic.

on this one, I will have to disagree with you miranda. The not without the finger lines does not work as well as with the finger lines.

    Huh?

Posted on Apr 07, 2010 at 9:52 PM

I might be the only one but I didn't really get this reference. I thought maybe he's trying to remember that he wants to tie the knot (as in marriage). After reading somebodies post I got it, but I'm not sure it is as universal as you might think. The concept is good though, I think you just need a more clear message. I love the simple, straight forward design.

    Very good...

It needs a background color, then it is ready. And the hand could also be lower, too much wrist.

    I agree with Nate

Posted on Apr 08, 2010 at 6:34 AM

I agree with Nate - I didn't make the association with remembering things until I read the comments here. I thought it was a bandage on the finger (paper cut caused by post it?)

Design wise it's really nice, and now I get the message it works well - but I just don't think it's entirely clear. I don't know if this is a cultural thing or not - perhaps if the ad is for America, and all Americans understand it you will be fine?

    Not as universal

Posted on Apr 08, 2010 at 11:02 AM

The design and concept is great but the concept is not really universal and some people might not "get it"

I agree with Miro too much wrist is shown.

    Good one

Posted on May 01, 2010 at 6:36 AM

    Some suggestions:

    1. Use a background
    2. make the knot a bit more real one. The orientation seems wrong. Since its the only cartoon / hand drawn element, putting a bit more detail to it will be good
