    Background

A pretty good looking site. I think it would be easier to read if the background were darker.

Just compared these designs with your existing ones and whilst the changes are subtle they make a massive difference.

One thing that would be worth considering is making the buttons more buttony (add some subtle gradients perhaps? underline the text?)

Nothing else to say - love the new look!

A very nice, simple and clean design.

Although it may be a small point, it did through me for a moment or two, which could have been long enough for me to click though to another page. Where is the "Sign In" button? Ok, I can see your form. That stands out pretty nicely, but still I need to be able to see the button with ease to click once I have filed it out. Simple Fix? Move it over to the right rather than leaving it on the left.
Other than that I think that the clean and simple interface works well, I especially like what you have done with the 8, chopping it in half on the right hand side. Overall the first image looks very nice, simple, and clean.

With the back-end I think that you have again managed to create a very nice and clean interface, but again their is information on this page which I feel hides itself from view. In the lower-right hand toolbar is the nudges. I think these just need moving up to the top where they can be seen more easily, say underneath interests.

All in all, and awesome pice of design. This really is something you should be proud of

    Buttons.

I like the look of the layout, especially in comparison to the current look. Some suggestions:

    • The "send" button in the second screenshot looks a little bland. In the first, you've got a nice "GO" button that makes the send pale in comparison - what if you used that "GO" style globally on your form elements? Or a variation of it, maybe?

    Interesting concept

Posted on Apr 06, 2010 at 7:09 PM

The is a very different concept and I think I like it overall. Here are some things that are bothering me though:

1.The shadow on the gray buttons are making it look like they are crooked. I would straighten the shadow. 2. The form fields take too much space up, make them smaller 3. On the inner page the buttons center aligned looks strange. Align them all the way to the left. 4. Align your logo all the way left.

hey nate!! thanks!! yeah the shadow does look a little weird, i was going for something different so the one side/edge is lifted. 2. form fields, i'd love to hear some more feedback, i see its a new "trend" for readability, but I think u right, there is a line of too big ;-)

3 & 4, are you saying the site shouldn't be centered?

Nope, just talking about the logo and the buttons.

    looks good

One question: if in the Yoga-conversation Greg and Kathy and Elizabeth had also posted a pic, what would the conversation look like?

hey Miro, I like the way you think, very practical! thats defiantly a good point, i think before I code anything I'm going to have to do a bunch more designs, no data, more data and some of the interaction/ajax stuff ;-)

thanks again!! your time and feedback is much appreciated

    nothing as well

Posted on Apr 07, 2010 at 10:11 AM

I think that the design fits well with the mood that is trying to be portrayed. I def. like the use of shadows!

    great work!

    Some subtle refinements

Posted on Apr 07, 2010 at 10:21 AM

Overall the design works great! I would only play a little bit more with the tabs / nav drop shadows making it softer.

-I really don't like the "GO" button, it's boring, doesn't fit the quality of the design .

-From a usability point of view you should make it clearer that you can sign up using OpenID and Facebook. I think it's an important point.

-I don't understand the picture (+ comments on the right) in the Yoga activity... seems like you can upload a picture in the comments, but there's no button for it.

Also, why are you using default buttons for "send" if you used a custom one for "Go"?

Now that you have a solid base layout and overall design, focus on the details.

    Great work!

thanks Daniel, so many awwSUM points ;-) 1. on the shadows, would you straighten them to? or do u like the corners. 2. OpenID & FB you think just some explaining text like on the current site? or do u think a design element is missing or could help.

      You're welcome.

      1) I think the shadows should straighten a little bit and be 15%-20% less opaque. 2) It's ok on the current site but i think it could also work like this (quick & dirty): http://cl.ly/4Fs
