this is a cool concept, but understandable just after read the brief, maybe you could work over the "C" a little bit more, and definitely it will be better if you manage the "C" in a different color,
What about use the external part of the bulb?? maybe it is a better way to represent the concept, the interior is a little complicate to understand.
take a look to this little mockup, it is not clear enough but maybe it could give you some idea.
by the way I use a bulb concept with my logo too.
oops!!! sorry I forgot put some start Design 3 purpose 4 originality 3 engagement 2
Maybe add some color next...
brittany,
to be honest, without reading your intro I wouldn't guess that that was a light bulb element. This is ok if you want it to be a subtle suggestion, but if you want it to be an implicit part of the logo design then it isn't obvious enough.
Maybe I am being dumb, but a large chunk for your visitors to your site or viewers of your brand will also be dumb like me.
also, have you tried different shades or colours of the T and the C? Maybe, make the right hand side slab of the T visible under the C?
Just my thoughts, so take them as such!
Joe
ps happy easter
The notch definitely improves the design immensely.
I agree with Joe that some people may have trouble picking out the light bulb image. Have you tried using a 1 px line on the inner edge of the C (outline of the bulb) in a slightly lighter grey or some other shade to see how that looks?
I agree, also, that some color would be awesome!
Good work! :D
very creative indeed but a normal person like me didn't notice that it has bulb on the "C" until i read their comments. Joe is correct, maybe the T and C will be on different color to make contrast and distinction. Maybe change the font weight will also work. :) G'Luck!
i looked at the image before i read your description and did not get at all that it is a bulb, maybe try adding colour or groves in the bottom bit of the bulb?
the idea is a nice one, but distinguishing T from C and a bulb took me a while. maybe try do something with the top part of the logo. or maybe C in lower case?
why are against threads?
Thanks for your suggestion. The reason why I'm against threads is because I want to keep the logo minimal. I don't want to make it busy with the threads because that's what EVERY other light bulb logo does. I want to be different and make you have to think! ;)
This is a great design. I love the reversed light bulb that sets within the "C". i'd like to see this with the company name written out. Obviously this doesn't really tell me anything about your company.
I like your suggestion, however, I don't want it to be obvious that it's a light bulb. I do plan to color it in a way where it would make it more obvious similar to what you've suggested, but I'm not gunna have threads :p <3
