    symmetry

Posted on Apr 03, 2010 at 9:56 PM

I like the type face you use in the first logo, but wonder if it would look better if instead of flipping the Y, you flipped the second M.

I also think it might work better if you rotate the mark left or right, so that it was symmetrical on a 90º axis.

Although cliché, i think the color scheme could be a take on the standard medical blues.

Lastly, the tagline or orthodontics that you used in the rest of the logos should be dropped in.

thanks for that yeah i think they are all great ideas and i will certainly take them all into consideration.

i just got lazy with the orthodontics on the first on lol and will include that in the final presentation

      thanks for feedback

First one is awesome. Love the symbol, and font. I agree you should try flipping the M. Looks great though. Love the colors too.

I like the last set best

Posted on Apr 03, 2010 at 11:52 PM

To me, the last logo is most aesthetically pleasing.

I like Sean's idea with the Ms, but you could also try flipping the first one instead so that the tall lines of the Ms line up.

    Good job!

    I like the last one

I am beginning to like the last one, now though I am thinking how it would look if there were three tooth shapes in the icon... could be that it would look too much like a clover though. Or is that a bad thing - make it a four leaf clover?

the number one is perfect, but I don't think is necessary flip the "Y" the symmetry concept is visually understandable with the image

I like it... but it's not symmetry!

Posted on Apr 04, 2010 at 10:20 AM

I like the typeface in option one... but apart from that, I don't find it all that unique.

I think you should be a little more obvious with this design, symmetry - use that as your influence!

rotate the logo to resemble a smile

Posted on Apr 04, 2010 at 4:52 PM

Logo 1 Is good, and honestly I didn't see the flipped "y" in the first place. In contrast to the other reviews I think flipping the "m" is not much better. In both cases the font doesn't make the symmetry very clear. The part of the letter that makes the difference is just too small (especially in the small b/w logos)

Logo 2 The font is very hard to read, however it somehow fits to a medical service. Just can't say why I think that...

Logo 3 Really like the logo itself, unfortunately the letters are a little bit close if smaller.

In general: It's an interessting approach not to use teeth, cheese. However, if you rotate the logos so that the curve resembles a smile might be a nice change.

    "mm"

Posted on Apr 04, 2010 at 5:02 PM

Also thought about flipping one of the m's instead of y. Y's look quite strange, like a modified v.

I'm speaking about the first design, don't like others:)

    Great logos

Posted on Apr 04, 2010 at 10:21 PM

These are really good. My favorite design is the third one. I think you have done a truly fantastic job on the imagery, balance and typography. However, I'm not quite sure it says "orthodontics" to me. That being saId, I also hate when orthodontic business use teeth in their imagery. So i'm torn on this concept.

    Less tech

Posted on Apr 05, 2010 at 3:13 AM

The three logos here are amazing great job. Only thing I am having trouble with is that none of them really say orthodontics to me. The third one is the closest to something I would associate with the profession.

Great work though. Only suggestion would be to make the logos less tech like and more organic with something that lets the viewer know immediately they are looking an orthodontics company and not a networking company.
