Good, clean, simple and nice! I would change the serif-font to the same sans serif you have used elsewhere though. What is going to be in the "about" horizontal scroll, in addition to what there is now?
Details: the logo needs some kerning help, and I would move the shadow under it a bit to the left.
I like the "organized chaos" you have going on here, but the logo just feels out of place.
"organized chaos" - love that term! thanks..ill work on the logo later, just needs to be sure of the layout..thanks! ^_^
Good work. I don`t like only down part
make contact form without shadows to keep it easy and smaller font.
Also i`m not sure about your choice of icons maybe you should add blue to icons
and i think that there is a lot of empty space.
thank you for that honest review..^^ this is still the first draft..will work on it till its perfect(for me)..^^
Hi Dan,
Good one! I like the way you highlighted some part of the text to emphasize what you do, that's a good move.
The only thing I'll improve is the contact area, I think you should follow Kirill's advice here.
Uhm... maybe add more blue too... now is more graydeesyns than blue. Try inverting the colours of the second row (blue bg, white text... you know what i mean) that will stand out the site much better.
And I agree with Miro too, get rid of the serif font.
Good work though!
In my honest opinion this is far too busy and messy. It feels cluttered and all the elements are are on top of each other. Unfortunately I think a redo on this one is in order.
Hi Dan...
You did a good job, however, it's not as much engaging as it could be... also you need to work on the detailing
Change your email and twitter name (bludeezyns is still available, but not very memorable.
Add more spacing. I really like the colors and the fonts (except for the navigation bar font, change that), but the site seems too squished up to me (is that a word?)
Think of something else for the contact form (I mean a different background image /CSS3 object).
It looks too simple to me. And you have overused the "highlight" part. Try to cut down the heaviness on the navigation (portfolio) part. Also try to incorporate some graphics on the header...a settled one.
portfolio section is unuseful and senseless
My eye goes straight to the middle of the page where it looks like you're going to have images..
I don't understand the blue highlighted text- is it click-able? Or just design element? If just design element, I'd re-think that as it makes me wonder why you're highlighting it and I'm used to being able to interact or go somewhere from highlighted text.
Visual Hierarchy- you're missing some here---- is portfolio equally important to 'contact me' ? If not, I'd think about re-sizing certain areas- at the moment I have three distinctly separate areas of content (top with text, portfolio, and contact) competing for my attention. Yet none stands out really, and I don't feel like I understand where it is you want me to focus my attention.
I like the rectangular style of your portfolio nav and display. In fact the whole site sems to work nicely with rectangular edges...so then I wonder why do you have curved edges on the form fields? Doesn't fit with rest of site.
the "about" is the one with "Hello Im Dan..."..i just dont see the need to place the word "about" there... btw, thanks for the review..^^ yah i will change that serif font to sans serif, the potfolio is just a screenshot of a separate file, i forgot to replace it with a sans serif..^^
