    contrast

Posted on Mar 24, 2010 at 5:10 AM

Doesn´t look bad, but everything is too light to my eye. I would use darker shades on the menu and on the product 1-2-3 areas, to give it more contrast. The green is too saturated, tune it down a bit.

Agree on the green Miro, working on 2 screens, and just found out one has the brightness down from the other, doh!!

    more contrasting colors

I agree with Miro - the darker blue is not dark enough. Also, you may want to consider extending the nav bar all the wa to the right or separating each item into a tab. As it is, it looks like one didn't load. I would add some more padding around the bottom box. The product boxes look good.

Yeah that was one thing i had also thought about, think i may give a 1px break in the menu items, or make the bar go right across.

arrangement is good, maybe some minor adjustments..

you could probably remove the e: and the t: from the email and phone number. the structure of them imply what they are pretty strongly i think.. this blue/periwinkle color isn't saying "mint" to me. but maybe a green website would be too much. i would suggest to make the background white, and use green highlights & buttons... maybe shadows to separate content areas on raised white boxes.. the "Find Out More..." button is really big and looks like the most important info on the page right now, maybe tone that down. the "Give yourself that ... Smile" scripty font is very feminine, might not appeal so much to the male audience if you're going for everyone.

things are coming together pretty nicely though for this site, so i guess it depends on how much time and energy you have to put in. let me know if you make a new version, cant wait to see :)

      Thanks for the feedback.

I think you may be right about the white background, and maybe light green swishes will work.

I also know exactly what you mean with the font being feminine, that went through my head too.

    Great layout

Posted on Mar 24, 2010 at 7:51 AM

This is a great layout, just a few tweaks

    1. Make the navigation the mint green color
    2. Rework the content area so that it is not a 50/50 split. The buttons area far to big in my estimation. You also need more padding within the box, the elements feel crowded.
    3. Try to pull the green color to the bottom of the page more.

Great work so far, looking forward to seeing the end product.

    line height

Posted on Mar 24, 2010 at 3:50 PM

    Just a few tips here:

    1. What about using an interesting font (check out Cufon or @font-face)
    2. I would remove the e and t from the contact section
    3. The green button does not look very good.
    4. You might want to get rid of the green color and try some other color altogether
    5. increase the line-height in the paragraph section
