    Header

Posted on Mar 23, 2010 at 3:01 AM

    Nice clean layout.

Only gripe is the header are is too tall. The space there distracts the eyes from the main content, which is the most important aspect of your website.

Also if you're intending to sell this design, you might need to do something about the H1 (About Me). Using an image as a header negatively impacts a website (in SEO, accessibility, etc).

Did you see the live preview? http://tview.co.il/themeforest/jd/blue/ I don't think there's much space there in the header.. If you still think there is, what should I do do deacrease it? There wont stay much space left for the header title.

      Thanks!

About the header image, yeah.. Totally agree with you. I'll work on it.

Yep, its a little tall (to me at least). Look at it in a 1024x768 resolution, you'll see only 2 lines of text of the main content area visible.

Nonetheless, keep up the great work!

Made the header image to text and reduced the size and space. Thanks.

As i say usually about concept like this - i like so much minimalistic theme cause design part doesn`t diverts from info!

I like colors. Site looks quite good.

Try only to use photo creatively. I`m talking about photo with card.

Hi. Thank you very much for the comment. What do you mean by "Try only to use photo creatively"?

I mean that now it is only square in top of page but you can make it, for example, like man is looking from behind the wall and giving to user his business card. Or you can use another one and make it like man shows me his card and interacting with other design elements understand what i`m talking about?)) So i want to say that it will be cool if you will play with different photo and keep it interacting with your design to make it interesting creative and saleable)) Thank for your comment and review too))

      Sure no problem :)

I'll work on what you said, do you have a cool photo or something that I can use? And do you think I should use cool effects on the photo too? (something colorfull)

Thank you so much, nice photos you got there. I am searching for a photo where you can see the face of the person, and he wears a nice suit (business suit). Do you have something like this? Or a person near high & pretty buildings.. Or a person in his office sitting on his chair wearing a nice suit. Do you got something like this? Thank you so much again! :)

    Font, divider

Posted on Mar 23, 2010 at 7:03 AM

I would add a divider below "Contact". Maybe find a font that fits better for the "About Me" header. Otherwise I like it.

Looks better. I like the scroll effect, where all the info is on one page. If you don't click on the links, and only scroll there are large spaces in between the single "pages". Maybe make those a little smaller.

    Good start

Posted on Mar 23, 2010 at 8:40 AM

This is a good start, but still needs some work. I really like the navigation and the logo bar. However, the way the site is organized feels a bit clunky to me. I would remove the image above the logo, shift everything up and then make the content area more interesting.

Hi Nate. Thanks for the comment.

First, what shall I do with the space if I will remove the image above the logo? What do you mean by shift everything up? And what do you call "interesting"? What shall I add?

    • Nate Hamilton
      Nate Hamilton commented:

It seems like you have a lot of wasted space at the top. I would just move the blue bar with the logo and nav up to the very top of the browser window.

It's hard to put to word what I mean, but if you look at the links below I think the exhibit interesting and well laid out content areas:

      http://www.organicthemes.com/ http://www.hiidef.com/ http://www.comfortbrothers.com/ http://www.karijobe.com/index.php

Does that make more sense now?

About the first part of your comment, I will try that out.

About the second part, it's not the same type of website... I can't put such a content like details block or something in my site. By the way, you said that I should remove the image above the logo.. Where shall I put the image the Kirill gave me?

To me, it's not necessarily the image, but rather the placement of the image. I would just remove it all together.

Here is what I am talking about...just remove the entire image:

      http://www.hdesignonline.com/images/example.png

This is a good place to start. Blue bar all the way at the top and rework the content area...clear?

That's really hard to say. Without designing it for you, all I can say is that it currently isn't working.
