I think the abstract circles and drips are cool, but I'm not sure they mesh well behind the globe. There is also a lot of wasted space in this area. Have you considered using a smaller globe in the left corner? This would free up the right half of the page under the nav to add a quick message about your blog.
I think the blue and yellow circles are to prominent, maybe it would be better to use other colors that better mach your blue-grey color scheme. Maybe two red/orange tones... Btw. i like the world illustration and the stripes in the background.
otherwise it looks great!
I like the idea but think it might look better with a black background.
I think the current world logo would actually work better with the 'chris spooner' inspired vector shapes.
Also, not so sure on the multi-stepped drop-shadow/border ...... have you thought about or tried a subtle and small drop shadow?
You might actually be on to something here, i might try that out.
The illustration isn't bad, though I think the current website works a little better. It looks more like a blog. This looks more like an environment preservation website. To me, this also looks slightly on the cheesy side of things.
Though I think the current design works better, I think you still have some refinement to do on it. Just my thoughts...
I think your possibly right. It seems to have taken a little corporate feel to it, and i have tried to take that away with the vectors.
Back to the drawing board i think.
Its deifnately something im thinking about, i have considered a vector earth.
