    sun glare and rounded corners

    Scott,

glad you are enjoying blogging and getting some success with traffic.

In all honesty, i think the current site displays the main body content better than the new design.. however the sidebar is better in this design.

Personally I would remove the lens glare from the picture as it draws my attention away from the page and towards a large white headache causing blob. Good use of a full width image and it photo of you gives the page some personal identity. But its muddled with new post text, lens glare and social icons.

I like the new header (logo, nav) better than the last design.

Also, personally i am not a fan of content boxes with all 4 corners rounded off.... for me it just doesnt feel right.

Also the repeat of the '26' comments so close together looks a bit strange but cause its a mock-up with no content this may not occur in the real site.

    Remove the lens flar

Not really feeling the lens flare - it's taking away from the content and is distracting. I know it may look cool to you but it's not really working.

I would also change the rounded edges to 5px instead of 10px - it looks a little childish.

For the header, I'd make it mid-gray, not black and fade your b&w pic in with the new posts.

    Lens flair

You gotta get rid of the lens flair. Also, your logo header doesn't seem to flow with the rest of the page. Lastly, pull the colors of the design into the header image.
