The design is suffereng a bit. Very unengaging and boring to be blunt about it. You need something that makes this more fun and lively.

While I won't say you can't get away with a dark cuisine site -- as the two previous reviewers have mentioned... photos will have to carry the light. Notice again though how the 3 above sites lighten you up and the dark kinda brings you down.

the layout is ok, the logo is cool, but the homepage is so dark man! ... add some pictures!

I think it´s an ok layout. But it doesn´t really remind me of cuisine.
People are happy when they´re cooking! Try to make things more bright. Try adding textures, colors, icons... What ever works best for you!
And use the photographs! They won´t distract the user. They would make them hungry! You can even make spep by step pictures or a video showing how to make the recipe... On my personal experience, these are really helpfull!

I'm having some photographs shot soon, so will see if any are suitable for the homepage.
