    A couple of things

Posted on Mar 09, 2010 at 12:12 PM

I personally think the logo, has to much spacing i would say its to long. I like the idea of the trash cans, but would do them with a bit more 3D look, there are some very nice examples out there of Trash icons. The floral stamps on both sides, i am not to shure if they are any more up to date. Also the circles on the in the background of the Recent Tweets remind me of the old UK Hick Design. Hopefully that helps.

Bring everything together a little more

Nice design, Clear navigation...it doesn't need to be so spread out.

I really like the site and think it servers your purpose well. I'm a little confused with the navigation in the footer. Is this an inside page of a main site? If this is the home page, I'd recommend moving the navigation up to give it a greater call to action.

I think the logo is very cool, especially with the gradient. I personally don't mind the purple, but could see it being very hit or miss.

    The tweet box

Posted on Mar 09, 2010 at 7:56 PM

I love the freshness of this website. It doesn't remind me of anything, and that's different. I like the layout of the whole thing, but I would recommend making "Creative Nuts" a little large of a font, and perhaps moving the "recent tweets" to the lower right instead of the upper right.

    use lighbox for portfolio images

Posted on Mar 09, 2010 at 10:47 PM

visually I find the body background a bit too pink, perhaps try a different shade than the twitter sidebar.

Body could also do with a bit more white space and perhaps bump the font size up a touch. Theres not a lot of content so you can afford to give it some space which will allow it to stand out more and increase readability. The top left corner of the content can overlap the floral image in the top left corner which doesn't look nice.

Use a jquery works well, one thing I'd suggest adding is have the portfolio images popup using a lightbox effect instead of opening them on a new page. Opening a new page for the image just ruins the one page site effect.

try using the same lighter rounded box that you use for tweets for the body content

just mouseover on portfolio images, and you will see larger view.

Yes I saw (and liked) the mouseover. I was referring to when the image was clicked on. If the mouseover is enough then you could make the images not clickable.

    A bit odd

Posted on Mar 10, 2010 at 8:46 AM

Between the bright pink colors and the navigation at the bottom of the site, it feels a little odd. The pink feels really girly and I'm afraid you going to alienate clients because of it. The navigation hidden at the bottom doesn't make much sense to me either. Lastly the tweet box doesn't fit quite right.

    Spacing

Posted on Mar 10, 2010 at 9:55 AM

I like the use of pink but not the trash cans. They're too spaced out and feel like an afterthought. Also an odd place to put social networking icons.

    Spacing

I agree with the other reviews. Spacing is the biggest issue. Condense other things down. Is pink a branding color?

    Get some balance

Posted on Mar 15, 2010 at 10:23 AM

I love your approach and the idea with the boxes but the circles and the recent tweets box have to move down in the big stripe. Then you have to put these cans a little bit together and size down the width of the white text and you have a nice balance ! Keep up the good work!

    Visited the site

Posted on Mar 15, 2010 at 3:33 PM

I visited the site itself and noticed you z-indexed thr floral pattern on either side of teh browser.

I was wondering if you tested this for small monitors because when using a small monitor the user cannot click on or rollover the cms desing button.

Plus the recent tweets box breaks in IE8. If you created this on a mac safari can show you compatibilty for IE.

    Just a thought.

    Navigation too down

Posted on Mar 10, 2010 at 12:28 AM

Too much real estate wasted above. Search for navigation is a down here.
