    read more buttons

Posted on Mar 03, 2010 at 12:22 PM

Great work Kapil! I love the setup. Nice touch with the blue background elements and the various line strokes to divide the blue and the white. It's clean and simple, yet sharp and attractive.

Here are a few things that caught my attention:

    1) The 3 word tag line font. I'm not sure it fits. I think it's an okay placement, but the font and outer glow just seem too different to work here.

    2) I would downsize the read more buttons. They are dominating the space.

    3) I'm not sure that you need the horizontal rule under Our Latest Products. It is almost completely separating the title from the product slideshow and looks like content is missing. There is already a border around the products that should suffice.

    4) I'm assuming the logo is old and a new concept is not being created. If so, it's a shame because it's style doesn't match with the rest of the site.

Navigation placement and logo is blending...

Posted on Mar 03, 2010 at 12:27 PM

I like where this is going. I think the navigation butted up to the top seems kind of "old school" but that is just a personal preference.

The red logo is blending into the background color. Work on separating it from the background somehow.

The typography looks good. I think the main title looks like fonts used in weightlifting competitions, etc. Not sure it fits.

    Logo & Country Site Dropdown

The logo needs to be updated to stand out more from its background. If the customer insists on keeping the logo, try to give it more depth. Such as a bezel or 3d look to give the feel it is popping out. You could also enlarge it and use margin/padding in css to create a slide overlay on top of the main banner image.

put the logo over the nav bar.

Posted on Mar 03, 2010 at 10:37 PM

Overall you've got a nice looking site. It's easy to browse and see what you're looking for. However, the nav bar gets a little lost in the shuffle. If you bring it down so it's underneath the logo, it should be easier for visitors to see. You also might want to change the nav bar's color so it contrasts a bit with the blues in the page. Try gray.

    Very nice

Great site here, really like how you have layed out everything. Here are some ideas to think on:

    1. if able, reverse the entire logo.
    2. Lessen the drop shadow on the navigation, it is a little overpowering
    3. I don't know if you need the shadow under the large blue header bar.

Good work here, just a few tweaks...

I like the redesign. It's well organized and with good choice of colors. You really don't need that glow over the "motto". You may also reduce the contrast of this white line in the header background. It seems that the instruments in the slide image are in the air. The title of the slide is not necessary to be with gradient. For a change and to underline its importance you could try another color for the Browse Button. It's so much blue everywhere and the button remains unnoticed especially because of the sky which is the same light blue color.

The logo is still awful :D
