    The A

Posted on Feb 25, 2010 at 2:49 PM

Great logo! I agree with some comments above... The house graphic in the "A" may not show up well when small. Maybe try raising the peak of the roof?

My eye also keeps looking at the overlap between the "R" and the "S" of Anderson. Maybe it should connect more so there's no sliver of black, or the letters should be disconnected.

    Nice work!

    A

this works just fine, but i think perhaps the house inside the A could be even bigger so it's even more obvious. i think the fonts works great, very constructing.. :)

Almost good as is! 1 suggestino

Posted on Feb 25, 2010 at 10:37 AM

    Really like this,

1 suggestion, if logo is smaller and to give it more presence I would increase the "house or arrow" symbol in the A you could make the /\ part a bit higer to make it stand out more , not shure about the mirror effect below if that would work good as letterhead but for online great, great logo!

hey nice work here. i agree with others that you should use a normal A. I would add that it might be nice to have anderson black on white like construction below, maybe they would need more space between them if you did do this.

Just make it a regular "A"

Posted on Feb 25, 2010 at 8:32 AM

I think this logo says "construction" enough without having to put a house in the "a". I like the bold solid look of the logo though, good work.

    the A graphic

Posted on Feb 25, 2010 at 3:49 AM

    A good job, really.

It work fine on b/w and ggod with color. Just try a small size version, the "A" graphic is little and angular. Maybe doesn't work as well in a small size case.

    First from the top

Posted on Feb 26, 2010 at 10:30 AM

Top one is the ONE for me. Simple & technical. Background gives contrast to the 'bars' at the front. Letter 'A' is different - gives a small hint but does not hit you in the face.

tryu and make the house inside of the a look more like a house(put a window in it). also get rid of the gradients. construction stands for stability/strength/reliability... so try to use solid color fosr businesses like theese.

Nice logo Sean! I like the color scheme. That will definitely look great on business cards and invoices

Agreed - very nice logo. Personally, I think the house should stay and be slightly bigger. I would lose the mirror effect on "construction". I don't think it's necessary and would look awkward on some media.

    Lose mirror effect

Posted on Mar 01, 2010 at 12:42 PM

Everything looks great! Would suggest a slightly bigger house like some of the other comments, but I like it!

I would take out the mirror effect on "construction" since I think it would look awkward on some media.

I would pick the first one

I love what you've got going with the first concept. The stripes just say construction to me, and the typography is solid. Good work!

oh, and this is just me but I would try reducing the size of the word "construction" to where it's left edge aligns with the begining of the first yellow stripe, and the right edge aligns with the end of the "N" in the word above.

    Leave the reflection off.

Looks good and feels strong! Very dudely!

Breanna is right. That was the first thing I saw as well. I also agree about the arrow/house in the A. I like it there but I think it should be bigger.

    font size et al.

Posted on Mar 02, 2010 at 6:05 PM

    Hi. Nice work!

I liked the second option, the 'a' inside the house, the most. From all the options it's the most obvious one that 'andersen' has something to do with construction or a house.

The last option, where a house appears inside the 'A' and the diagonal bars also suggest construction, but I would say it suggest more construction / engineering than desing.

The other two I would discard, as the first resembles some railway logo and the third a lawyer firm.

Comming back to the option I liked most, as some others pointed out, the 'a' could use a little bit more contrast, by maybe reducing the font size as the rest of the name, drawing some outlines in black or using a single storey 'a'.

    GREAT...jus a few adjustments

Posted on Mar 03, 2010 at 7:37 PM

-> lose mirror effect -> yes adjust the kerning so that 'Construction' is tighter and I agree with Joel - "oh, and this is just me but I would try reducing the size of the word "construction" to where it's left edge aligns with the begining of the first yellow stripe, and the right edge aligns with the end of the "N" in the word above." -> i'd lose the gradients as well.. -> and heighten the house just a tad...

other than that..great work in my estimation..

    "a"

Posted on Mar 04, 2010 at 8:43 AM

The top, "more polished" logo is the one that grabs me the most (and not just because it's more polished in its presentation). It's the most complete-feeling. I do think that the reflection is a bit distracting from the logo - rather unnecessary. The house within the "a" could stand to be bigger to a) demonstrate more immediately what it is and b) hint at the negative space we're used to seeing in a capital "a" more easily. Great work - love this!
