Hi Noel!
I think you addressed all the issues I had with this design, nice improvement on an already awesome design.
The menu is much more prominent now, which is a big plus I would think, and the bottom is also easily readable.
One thing I agreed on with someone in the previous version was that the menu is a bit bleak. it's not bad at all, I'm just trying desperately to find something to criticize :) If there is a current page indicator, showing which page you're on, that might be well enough though.
One thing I noticed is that the content inside the Yelp box is slightly misaligned to the top. Other than that, beautiful work.
Maybe the shadow over the footer should be more transparent, or increase distance between the shadow and the text below.
And maybe move the menu items to the right, to align with content below.
hey Noel I think you've made some good changes, this is very nice.
still, I think I'll have to agree on the dropshadow over top of footer, slightly more transparent.
Also, I still think the map should have a border, but no big deal :)
Hi Magnus,
I tried the map thing btw :) I just felt it took away too much space from actual map usability (and the other way around would have been too cramped)...
Thnx on the dropshadow, I'll look :)
Cheers
I really love this design - I can easily imagine a thai or seafood restaurant using it. The textures and palette are really nice; I love the pattern you used on the sidebar.
Perhaps indenting the ingredients from the "menu name" a bit would add a little more differentiation.
Also, will there be an area and/or form available for restaurants that have pick-up or delivery?
Hi Serina,
Thank you for the comments! Nice idea on indentation, I'll definitely try it. No pickup/delivery is planned yet but that's a good idea for the future, thank you :)
Cheers
This is looking better but I think some of my previous feedback still stands:
1.Make the header image wider. More of a 25/75 split instead of a 60/40 split. 2. I'm not quite sure why you have thumbnails on two meals but not the middle one. I would add a thumbnail to the middle item 3. Still not a huge fan of the cutting board, though it is growing on me slightly. I still wonder what it would look like if you extended the cutting board the entire width of the page. 4. Your readability on the footer is better but still pretty difficult. Try making the cutting board more subtle. 5. Make your social media icons smaller.
Thank you Nate, to answer your comments :)
I made it a bit wider, but am still worried about very horizontal logos getting lost. I may even offer up more interesting and simple pattern/design png's to use underneath the logo and thus fill it some more.
That is part of the database, if a rest. owner chooses to fill 100% of thumbs by uploading them or only 20%, who am I to limit these things? :)
I've tried it both ways and felt that keeping the panel fixed width added some more uniqueness to it.
Will do :)
Didn't see that yet, but good catch, I'll play around with it.
Thanks again!
i really do
This is original. The wood cutting board thing at the bottom is very unique. Unfortunately it is below the fol and the originality would not be seen by many people in the event they never get past the first fold
Everything her works really good. It has a strong composition, interesting colors and the design says "quality" in every way. I love what you did with the social network icons.
I like it! Please tell me how can i get a copy? Thanks!
Thank you Daniel!
The menu will definitely get a boost :) It's all running over jquery and a backend, so final styling on the way ;)
Cheers again & thnx for Yelp view...
