Really like the design. Great use of fonts and color. If I had to change one thing it would be the headers for the recipes on the second page. Make them the same size, "LASAGNA" is too dominate.
Sorry, copywriting isn't the designer's job, but I feel like you could engage folks a lot more with some fun instead of descriptive headlines throughout. The "Sust/Delic/Veg, Honest." line is great, let's see more of that.
Other than that, the design looks fantastic. I love the textured paper background, faded photos, and the script and rosewood pairing. (The lowercase "g's" in vegan are annoying me though where they hit the line below them.)
Also I really like the reds you are using, perhaps use them instead on black for the logo/first image.
Looks great!
I agree with you on the copywriting. I actually wrote the headline, but was given the rest by the client. I've tried getting a copywriter on board but no luck. Thx for the feedback!
Very nice, healthy, organic feeling menu. Very well done! Just one change though...the picture of the lasagna doesn't look appetizing. I wouldn't stain the picture like you have the rest of the menu. Other than that, great job!
I like the retro_vegetable style. nice color palette. although u could have added a little bit more contrast to the whole concept.
The image with the person holding a basket seems to be competing with the image above it -- garlic picture. Try fading out the image with the person in order to show a clear hierarchy.
Also, you are using justified text on the left inner spread -- there are a few visible "rivers" that stand out. There is an ability to change justification setting in InDesign in order to help minimize that "rivers".
Overall, great color scheme and layout. The design comes across as very organic and green. Something I would personally be interested in.
I was struggling with the cover (logo, headline and image are bit much), I'll try the fade out. Thx!
I agree with fading out the background image to minimize competition on page 1. Beautiful design overall, love the vintage/soft feel that comes across.
Overall good design and type.
However, the headings in the boxes at the "moo moo's current entrie selection" in between the images and text content below needs some adjustment. Some are more bolder than others, if this is the intent, then it is okay. Also the alignment, it is padded to the left of the image or in the center?
And do something about what Julia said about the fade. The best.
I agree this is one of the weakest parts of the design, but I'm not sure how to fit all that info into that small area. And the fact that they are all uniform except for the name makes it hard too. Any suggestions on how to tweak this?
Lovely, beautiful texture. Looks really good and only needs some minor tweaking.
On the inside right page the paragraph text under the main heading is smaller than the text side on the left page but you've left the headings the same size... imo this doesn't work. To keep it consistent I would make the text the same size.
The black on the back of the brochure seems too stark in contrast.
Is the body text Times new Roman? My dislike may be personal taste but I think it looks too 'default.' It doesn't really mesh with the old world feeling of rosewood and the handwritten font. Might be the black too.
Lastly, the product boxes might benefit from a lighter background for contrast.
Beautiful design and fits the brand really well. Great work!
Nice catch on the text size. I did forget to make them uniform. The body copy is Plantin. It looks much better than Times in print but I can see the similarity in this low res screen shot. The package image area was full color off white but I dropped the opacity to 30% to avoid a harsh contrast with the image on the left. I'll experiment with it though. Thx for the feedback!
