You chose one of my favorite colors, and that might be swaying my vote. However, this is a design that makes me think "I wish I had thought of that".
Seeing a complimentary color would be nice, perhaps for links. But overall, great job!

That is my favorite color :) I really like this design. It is really simple but portrays the objective.
You have white space in there that makes it easier to separate the sections.
Great Direction!

I like the design. But the Welcome and News button are too close to the rest of the content.
Good start. Will like to see the subpages.
I tried to use grey as the secondary color. I think mixing colors like blue and yellow or orange or whatever else would not work so well on this design - probably take away from the white's dominance.
But I have been toying with the idea of making the tagline dark grey to match the word "ideas" in my logo instead of blue.
