I've not heard of similar projects, but I haven't been looking.
I think this could be very useful.
I find it easy to use, but it took me a while to see what it could do and what use it could be.
Definitely long tern usable.
Webdesign is OK. Not great, I need more information about the product, so I know what it does and what it can do for me.
Skins? The background is the only thing that changes, try adding some styles to the input fields. That should set it off quite well.
All in all i think you should have more description about what it is you can do with this. Your explanation is very vague and after looking around I saw that it has many applications for different users. Lecturers and students assignments, data collation, business usage, personal projects, could be tied in with usabiilia.com, international research.
Wow, if you get this marketed right you could have a huge research company with limitless data mines.
Bottom line: highlight it's uses more effectively. Perhaps have small case studies for a set of user groups showing how it's used and it's benefits.
1) no 2) yes 3) looks ok 4) yes 5) I would change the top area a bit, see the image
Agree with Surya Osborne on most points. Visually linking the form fields to the actual back-end/API fields would be awesome!
Hello Steve,
Thank you for your review.
What do you mean by: "Visually linking the form fields to the actual back-end/API fields" ?
You may already have that functionality:
Column #1 - List of fields available from back-end database via API
Column #2 - Check-off boxes for these fields
Column #3 - Visual auto-design of checked-off fields from field and form design attributes, i.e. size, data type, etc.
While I like the idea behind the concept, your design needs a good bit of work. The colors work well together but the site feels very unorganized. Keep working on the design here.
