My concern here is not that the idea is bad, because it isn't. It's a nice gimmick but I think i would get annoyed if i were one of your clients if i had to slide the bar across just to get a small piece of information which may be hidden under it.
Right, now I have that off my chest I need to address the two concepts, and the middle bar.
The middle bar;
If its going to be the gateway to both sides then you should have features from both sides present in the graphic. At the moment it contains elements from the left hand side only.
It looks a little bit like an afterthought. And the small text on the slider is hard to read so it's not simple to work out what the diagonal gray bar actually does.
Left side/white side;
The square boxes really take a lot of focus away from what you want the visitor to be doing.
I'm not sure what I'm suppose to be doing on your site? Booking you, looking at your work, making an appointment, ordering products?
The blue/green side;
Too much fog/smoke/cloud obscuring some parts of the image which would be very nice to look at.
The content box doesn't contrast enough with the surroundings. I suppose the font colour you use will make all the difference. But since 'content is king' It needs to be as prominent as possible and I have a feeling it could get lost amongst the graphics.
I love the bottom where the hills roll away. But i think the other elements, like the brick mossy background behind the content area, just detract from the
Saturation levels need to be tamed.
Oh I also think you should make your logo stand out a bit more.
I have tried to put as much down here as i could, I hope some of my points will be helpful. I love the idea you have here, and if you pull it off I think you could have a beautiful unique site.
Good luck.
You have an interesting idea, I hope you get it to work as you planned. If the content on these sides is different, how can the user get from one side to the another after choosing it in the beginning? Maybe you should leave the slider visible?
Thank you Miro for posting.The content will be roughly the same on both versions/sides.I'm still thinking if it's worth implementing the testimonials/latest blog posts features in the creative version from the right since I don't want to sabotage the design by creating additional elements that might make it crowded.
The slider will most definitely be present after the user/visitor selects a version of the design.It will be placed on the left side/right side near his internet browser margins so if for example a user gets bored with the corporate design he can drag the slider from the right margin of his internet browser to the left and thus unveiling the creative design.
Thank you again for your post!
I like the concept. I would lighten up the blue sky a bit so it's more like an actual sky. It feels much too saturated as is.
I must say while the concept if very clever, you're going to need to be very intentional about the execution of it, as this is somewhat of a risky venture in my opinion. I mean, if it doesn't look really good, it's just going to suck. Probably no in-between in area with this one.
This concept is just far too busy. Both the white design and the colored design feel unorganized, disjointed and too out there. I think you need to focus on one of the design and make it really good.
Thanks for the detailed review I really appreciate it.There are some good points you've mentioned here and I will take some of them in consideration.Thanks for taking time and posting a review.
