    navigation bar

    Toby

I quite like the colours, but the thing that bugs me the most is the nav bar, it's cut off! Is this intentional?

Also move the logo to the left hand side and make it slightly smaller and increase the padding at the top, so it's not so tight.

I like the font of the logo, but the image is a bit confusing, I would probably look at simplifying it a bit more...

    Good Luck!

The nav bar was cut off deliberatley - I thought about it and wanted to simplify the css list so the background applied only to the links, but I'm open to change!

As for the simplified logo - I know what you mean. I've considered making the first 'o' in Bournemouth a ball in a hoop...

Which sidebar box do you prefer by the way?

The gradient background is very active and distract my attention. I cannot understand the position and the big size of the logo. Nice menu colors but is really disturbing to be cut off. You could think of another way of combining the images in the header. The first "Latest news" box has 3D look and differs from the other two. There is no connection between them. Under the video you have much white spice. The footer is simple but is ok.

Thanks for your comments. I know there's no connection between the sidebar boxes - that's why I numbered them, so you could choose one and tell me which one you think works best!

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I think the second variant suits best :)

    logo

I like the 2nd logo you have, but you need to have it top left, its like an un-written rule.

Other than that, there isn't oo much wrong with the design.

I also like (3) for latest events.

    Very 90's

Posted on Jan 29, 2010 at 8:09 AM

Bring the design into the 2000's. It all feels very dated to me and you also have some. Between the images, colors and layout you have, it all looks like something that would have been designed in the 90's. I've attached some inspiration for you of where I think you need to take this site:

    http://www.quickbackup.com.au/ http://wecareabilene.org/ http://www.takethewalk.net/

So in short, I think you could benefit from starting over on this one. I'm not trying to be rude here, just trying to get you some honest feedback.

    Extend the nav bar.

Posted on Jan 29, 2010 at 8:11 AM

    Hello,

    Just to reiterate others sentiments;

    Extend the nav bar.

    Use sidebar 3.

Left align the logo. And perhaps lose the drop shadow. And I'm sad to say I don't like any of the balls. Someone mentioned integrating the ball into the letter 'O' somehow which could work.

    Background image needs review.

Remove the large white space below the video.

Keep the background colour simple, without gradient.

Good start. Keep on with it and you will have a nice netball site.
