My client owns a fleet of boats which take divers out to collect scallops.

In the news at the moment in the UK the traditional fishing market has taken a bit of a beating with the introduction of marine conservation areas banning trawlers access to certain area of the sea. They have been banned because they dredge the sea floor disrupting ecosystems (which seems fair enough).

My client takes professional divers out who hand pick the scallops form the sea floor, picking only what they need and leaving the rest of the life down there intact, which is the most environmentally friendly way to do it. This means that the product he sells is much sought after by the best restaurants and suppliers in the country and therefore consumed by the most discerning customers.

My brief is to create a simple clean logo which will fit in with the sophisticated image his clients will be looking for.

I've had a few goes at this, and think I'm onto something here. The feint rock background is a photograph of local rock, upon which the scallops are served in some restaurants.

Please let me know what you think, my deadline is looming and I now consider this website to be a valuable part of my feedback and revision process.
