    un-settling

    Mark

to be honest this is fairly dull, I would probably go for something a little more 3d and experiment with different fonts.

I have done a quick 3d version, to give you an idea.

    Good luck!

Thank you for taking the time to do that.

I am a little wary of doing anything 3d or with a gradient, because this will be used for more than just the web.

I was going for something simple and clean but hopefully not dull! Thanks again for your feedback.

Fair call... Good luck, I would suggest just looking at some nicer fonts... and keep an eye on spelling - just looked at my attempt and noticed I can't speall appraisal.!!

Ha Ha, I think I have spelled it every wrong way possible at this point. Thanks for the advice.

    1st concept

Posted on Jan 27, 2010 at 7:48 AM

The first concept isn't bad, but by no means is it an incredibly different design. If you are looking for something extremely simple, go with the first concept. Shrink the tagline and make the border around "settle" 100% black.

    add color

maybe to try play with a bit of color. I prefer the first concept, i am not a big fan of using Impact or stencil as a logo typeface.

    Font

If you are planning to use only a text based logo, then you might want to use a better font and then customize it .

    Fonts

Definitely the first one, 2 looks like an army logo!!

Tighten up the kerning if you are keeping this one.

Maybe extend the 'L' upwards out of the box to form a chimney, then slope the box to make a roof???? Anything to add a bit of dynamics to it as at the moment it is dull.

    The font

i understand you are trying to make the company look strong but that font does not seem very inviting. It reminds me of the Army of or a jail.

First one is the best one.

the second one is very military.

Play some more with the first concept if you have the time, you need a different font.
