It's a great idea, however all of the concepts are lacking professionalism.
I think it might work better if the supermum was incorporated into the typography somehow.
The font choice is a bit flat, I would suggest something like all lowercase chapparal pro std or if you want serif lowercase DIN.
Stick to 3 colours, remember if you want to reproduce this in black & white it still needs to be clear what it is.
It's a good start but it needs a bit more work... Good luck!
Well, you're starting with a cartoon image and you want to bring professionalism... that's like wanting to stay on a diet and eat a coconut cream pie. :)
I like the juxtaposition you're going for - nothing speaks to folks like someone with something significant to say who can still laugh at themselves, and I feel that's what you're doing.
The cartoon might have a bit too much "fun" associated with it to professionalize things up. What about a line drawing of her or single color with mult values... then a more sophisticated font might find the right balance.
Keep trying - you'll get there.
But try with diff typo. I liked the illustration too.
Ditto on everyone elses comments.
Maybe try a perspective with block font. Give it that "Superman" look. Typography doesn't seem to be your strength. My suggestion is do not use a fun, comic book style font. Your target market is adults. Something bold, strong, yet feminine would better.
Lastly, I think pink is a better color for SuperMom. Light blue is a masculine and non-action color.
Good Luck
Thanks for your details advice on typography. Will do some research on more adult feminine fonts.
I personally don't like pink for ladies as it is really over done for girls & I don't think we would stand out with all the other pink stuff in our market. However I know that pink sells with girl's toys so the same may be with woman stuff. I think that may try a darker pink.
Thanks again. Will post some ideas soon.
Love the idea and the "mum" illustration, however, I think you're right - the color is a little much and the fonts could use some change-up. Currently the "SUPERMUM" title font/color reminds me of Spiderman or a horror movie.
I would experiment with some other styles and colors (I think the red is okay, or even orange, but something that pops isn't a bad idea). The tagline below could also use a tweak - right now the two fonts don't complement each other too well.
Upload some variations when you can, I'd like to see some other options. Nice start!
Thanks for your fast rely and feedback. My designer partner also agrees with you about the SuperMum font looking to much like a horror film or like spiderman.
Do you think that the concept suites the target audiance of urban middle income mother?
I have updated the strap line on the website.
I think the illustration/style is fitting, but the fonts could use some work. Erica said it pretty well too. Experiment with some more "professional" fonts and colors and see what you come up with. I think you're close.
The cartoon Mom is great, but the font needs to be more incooporated with the character. The fonts need work. Something with less personality, so it doesn't compete with the character. I also think the color red is too bright, either dim it down or maybe make the Mom's shirt a red color and the font color Blue. Overall cute idea.
Thanks Andrew & Erica. My partner is now trying out some darker colurs of red for the SuperMum and has changed the font.
I have added two.. Not finished just a quick change so I added these for a quick feed back about colour & font.
Although the font is more mummy than mommy its still cool -good Job
