I think the lemon could use a little more definition, sort of like how the leaf has the line in it. I'm not entirely sure if the leaf is needed or not.
In general some of the kerning on the letters could be tighter so there isn't a thin line between them and the e and r could be brought down a pixel or two to be in line with the other letters, just to clean it up some. There is also a slight pixel of the background between the bottom left of the lemon and the m. (just really picky about these things...)
I seem to be jumping between being able to read the l in apparel and not being able to tie it to the rest of the word. Maybe the gradient could go from green to yellow, then to the gray color in apparel so it ties in more? May just make an ugly color though and not be worth it.
I like the top two colorings, the bottom was way too much yellow for me.
lol! thank you! as you were typing i also realized the things that you suggested...i forgot to tighten the kerning in the apparel part in the previous...so i hurriedly edited it and uploaded it...the ones i added are the number 2 and number 4..^_^
I was reading an article moments ago about the trends in Logo Designing. And how overuse can result in it termed as a cliche. Your concept is good. But the logo type you have used is really overused. the 'p' and 'm' for instance.
ohhh...i wished you havent read that article before viewing this concept..lol..anyways thanks for your review! ^_^
nice design! nice gradient from yellow to white in the "l" part...keep up your good works!
although a bit of a cliche, you designed a great concept here...i like it1!
I agree with most of Eric's feedback. The lemon looks too flat and the leaf is drawing more attention than the lemon. It probably isn't needed. I like how the a is in the middle of the m in the first and third designs. You should probably stick to some space or no space between each letter (not a mix of the two).
I like it, save for the subtly of the lemon. It blends with the m and the n too well, and doesn't stand out from the background. So my first thought was giving it a nice stroke, maybe just cut away a 2 or 3 px wide portion of the m and the n right along the edge of the lemon. So that the lemon isn't overlapping the m or the n, but rather cutting it away.
Also, i prefer the ones where the L is more grey, as it fits with the other letters in apparel. In the very top image, i didn't even notice the l was an l on apparel, because it was green, so i thought it was just a fancy descender for the end.
Good job so far.
I like the 4th design best. Experiment with and without the leaf & post this and see what everyone says. I am not sure if we would know that it was a lemmon without the leaf.
A bit more contrast with the lemmon would help to be able to see it better.
Being a cliche is because people love it so much that is now being over used.
nice guys keep it up
Firstly, I concur with the majority of comments here. Secondly, I get the feeling that this evokes a more modern feel/vibe... it doesn't really speak "childrens clothing"
I think the font choice is cool, but a bit too rigid. Even the colors seem a bit mature for anything to do with children.
Do you have any other iterations you could share?
Sorry to pick on the lemon like everyone else - I just think it needs maybe a texture on it, and the leaf could be a lot smaller.
Otherwise a very nice logo.
The concept needs work but I think it's headed in a good direction. The lemon needs to look more like a lemon. I would shorten the leaf and maybe add and additional leaf as well. I would also consider making the font colors the same. Just keep working through some of the details of this logo.
Ninja edit :) You added the yellow to gray gradient as I was typing, I like the way that one works out.
