    Colors and picture

Posted on Dec 17, 2009 at 1:20 PM

The banner picture and layout could be better. The typography on the bar to the right of the people is suffering. Try and tighten things up a bit and silhouette your pics better. Your colors also make the site feel a bit cheap. Find colors that give you a warm, cozy and passionate feeling.

Thanks. What font would you suggest for the right hand side text if you can think of a good one?

Also, regarding the colors - do you mean the colors in the blue area or the one below?

Yeah, I am talking about the Blue, Orange and Purple color scheme. I think you should probably choose a completely different color scheme.

I don't think you necessarily have to choose a different font but just arrange it differently. You have too much space between text and the heading is misaligned.

    it's a bit cheesy

Posted on Dec 18, 2009 at 1:26 AM

    Mathias

It's not bad I agree with Nate and Swarat to a degree. But I feel the imagery is just a little bit too cheesy, use real profiles.

I would also like to the home page with bigger images of the people, but I gotta say the rollover with ASL is cool.

    Good luck!

    RIA approach

Posted on Dec 18, 2009 at 1:52 AM

Dating websites should be taken on with a Rich Internet Application approach. That is, your design process should be task oriented rather than information oriented.

For your home page the most important thing is to engage the user into doing one of these things: a) searching b) browsing c) register

These 3 things need to be very prominent and how well your website handles these things will be what makes or breaks it.

At the moment I feel that the home page is displaying too much general information. Focus on maximising the browsing and searching experiences.

    Smaller photos

Many of the smaller photos (of members I assume) look like mug shots or missing persons photos...should consider using some better images to compliment the banner. I like the treatment given to the logo in the banner...images might be cheesy but shouldn't they be for a dating site?

    No, the blue are no!

I think that if you use something grey or try to find a good equilibrium with the orange should be better.

The top partis ok, but I think that yu need to put the button with similar colors. To keep the identity.

The big picture: OMG, they don't look as latin americans for me.

Maybe if the photos down would be with a orange ribbon background would be better.

I just think that the content needs to be worked. I think that if you set 3 collums with a simple line separating them would be better. The content there isn't looking good at all...
