I have made some changes to the original design. We lost the earth as too many thought it was too much.
Got rid of the boxes as we were't sure on those, and brought everything up a bit.

Its a nice design. The structure is very clear and logical. My only concern is on the creative direction. The dark theme with the fadeout style seems unusual for a financial asset management company.

I think the whole content area (Welcome to.. and Latest News) should be a little narrower...

I like this a lot better, great work! The blue now looks a little out of place to me. I would use more definite line for the edges of the image and side bar at the top, instead of blurring them out. Maybe go with something like this: http://devthought.com/wp-content/moogets/BarackSlideshow/demo.html.

I like the overall feel and the contrasting blues are nice. I think it is an improvement over previous work.
I don't like the gradient/contour on the left of blue nav It seems a little sloppy to be honest .
Over all I think the direction is going places just needs a little tidying up.
