Im not a huge fan of the logo. I dont think it matches the rest of the site. I would do a cleaner logo rather than a rough one but thats my oppinion.
also, indie stage needs a stroke
and "my recetn rambling" and refreshed needs less space.
i would probs do some sort of indicator letting the user know that they are on home, it would also spice up that top left section.
other than that, really cool. well done
u said the indie stage needs stroke its showing up for me in firefox safari... im guessing u are on ie?
lol o the screen cap yea for some reason the screen cap looks retarded if u look at the url its normal lol
Hard to read....
Also (no offense) but, Spelling skills in you webaddress with a "z" will limit you client base to 14 year old girls who text message alot...
However, overall design is neat and to the point... I like it...
But like I mentioned, to child based for businesses I think anyway....
I have had the same thought about the domain name... but it was the best that was available.... question u said at the end its to child based for business.... are u talking about the design or the domain name?
Domain name plus the Logo the heading titles like "My Recent Ramblings" a little informal, which is great if that the market you're tageting
Well so many of my friends have already mentioned about the logo...so I won't even go there. In simple words, it has to be changed...no tweaks can help!
You need to go through the sites and check-out alignments and spacing between several things. Though the site looks quite clean which is appreciable but it things also look mis-fitting. I mean there's extra space at many points whereas at many areas there is a space constraint. You need to level them.
The footer was a turn-off for me. The fonts, size and text color seems so out of place. The footer looks too cluttered and raw. You need to cut down on the text/links, improve spacing and if possible decrease the height. Would suggest you decrease the height of your 2nd and 3rd column. Instead include copyright information at the bottom with thin separator line..
Like the background texture and color.
I must agree on the logo, it needs some changes. now it says more 'Sad designs' with that sorry face.
I would have aligned the work-boxes, and made some boxes for all the text. it's too difficult to read.
I like the colours though.
THEN I saw the live-site, and please forget what I said about aligning boxes with your work, I like it a lot..c",
Now this looks like you took some time and designed this sucker. It really shows, this looks fantastic. A few things to work on:
Give the right column on the main page a heading just like you did on the left, "My recent rambling".
Align the two columns, right now they are misaligned.
Your background image is repeating itself and I can see the repeating line. Make sure that you use a background that is able to repeat and expand to no matter what screen size a person is using.
Your footer and or code is messed up on the blog, about and contact pages. Make sure you are using a sticky footer, http://ryanfait.com/sticky-footer/
This really looks great, well done!
thanks for the feedback. i am aware of the about blog and contact page, haven't gotten around to styling them... hope to this weekend
I like the overall design, but the recent work, the "hello" part and the recent rambling are all differently aligned. Do that and I think you've got a great design.
I like the idea of having a portfolio and blog together. I dig your design
The design is awesome, but, it have a lack of polishment,
I think you can work a bit more in the details, like headlines, etc!
Good Luck!
Selling services, you need trust. You need to be reliable. Make your design reflect that. Sans-serif fonts, and un-grunge designs are best, if it's for selling.
To dark background
The 3 recent work images, does not line-up with the grid...
hmm.. i just read that almost everyone is telling you this. Still, it's a start that can very well be worked-out quite nicely
I agree with Ryan, the logo needs a review. You should also check the grid system.
:) nice dude
